making Spam a thing of the past

I was wondering is there any way of making this site invisable to hackers and just allow real people in here so that we here can enjoy this site for what it's intended purpose is flight simming this hacker garbage is getting a little anoyying wouldnt you agree.

Well yeah, we see it as a sign of the popularity as well of course, lol.

The main thing is for anybody NOT to respond becausde all these messages have feed back activcated so the spammer KNOW it is being written and responded to. The more replies the more people read the spam. Telling them to sod off might be fun, but they realy don;t care and by doing so you help them.

We'll look this week at more methods of protection, but that's hard if you want the forums to be easy accesable.

Why not make a registration system where the user must receive an email to initiate registration and RESPOND back to Aerosoft with an email reply for confirmation :?:

We done some research on the spam and you know... our main finding is that it pays, it works. Whe the topic is right (say including some woman called Spear with some sexually related verb) it gets many views. if the same spam relates to something about small male sexual organs or loans, the amount of hits drops by 80%. What that tells us about our customer base, well let's not go there....

Let me say we got some idea on removing spam that will NOT involve any scheme that makes it harder to register or post here. We do not want to do anything like that as it means the spammers wins. It also means that we will never be without this kind of spam. If a forum gets hits it gets spam.

But above all... everytime you click [View|Open] it means the spam works. If you click on link in the message that will allow you to SEE the sexual act between the woman called Spear and some bloke, it means we will get a lot more spam as it confirms it works. If you want porn I strongly suggest you try youporn.com and not this forum.

Spam in forums depends on reactions, seriously. Click it and it grows (and we known WHO clicks it, did you consider that?) ignore it and it will decrease. We will soon be able to reduce spam here, but I will not decrease availability of the support forums because some jerks think our customers have small male genitals or need to see the a woman called Spear haveing sex.

Now anybody, tell me, who is that woman Spear?

I installed it over at the DA forum and it works just fine. No more spam posts since then. Of course, people who don't notice a big, white on red "don't fill in any profile information" will suffer :wink:
