Bob G. 4
Install Question DHC-6 Ext. I bought the DHC-6 Extended and ran the installer with out doing anything with the original DHC-6 version only to find that when I started FSX and went to "Select Aircraft" and then to "Publisher" then selected "Aerosoft" I could not tell what liveries were the new Twin Otter Extended and what ones were my original DHC-6 Twin Otter liveries? - When I selected a livery and clicked "Fly Now" I saw on the first screen that came up it said "DHC-6 Twin Otter X" and the livery was one of my original DHC-6 Twin Otters with the original DHC-6 aircraft. Should the Twin otter Extended have extended in it's own name in the menu? I never saw this. - After starting FSX and at the "Free Flight" screen I click on the "Publisher" tab and all I saw was "Aerosoft" with no "Aerosoft DHC-6 Twin Otter Extended" or "Aerosoft Extended", if I clicked on "Aerosoft" it brings up all the liveries for the original DHC-6 Twin Otter and the original DHC-6 aircraft. - I was confused because in the manual of the new Twin Otter Extended under "Installation" the following is said: "Installation is simple-- start the .exe file you downloaded and follow the instructions on screen. Make sure FSX (P3D) is closed and we do advise you to reboot your system before installing. After installing it can help to defragment your hard disk (unless it is a SSD drive that should not be defragmented)". - No mention of uninstalling the first original version of the DHC-6 Twin Otter is in the installation instructions and I did nothing to the original DHC-6 before running the installer for the Extended. - I ended up using the uninstall tool in the Windows Uninstall Program to remove the Extended DHC-6 leaving the original DHC-6 untouched as it worked just fine. - Can anyone help me? - What should I do now to try again to install the Extended leaving the original DHC-6 alone so that I can have them both? - Thanks so much Bob

Bob G. 4
I want the original DHC-6 installed as well and I understand you can, I just don't know what I did wrong the first time so I am asking for help from someone that has them both as to how to do it. MarkHurst 173
From memory, the thumbnails are different - the Extended flies right to left, the old one flies AT YOU!
Bob G. 4
After starting FSX and at the "Free Flight" screen after clicking on the "Publisher" tab should I see "Aerosoft" and "Aerosoft Extended" or what?
MarkHurst 173
After starting FSX and at the "Free Flight" screen after clicking on the "Publisher" tab should I see "Aerosoft" and "Aerosoft Extended" or what? You will see a lot of aircraft called 'de Havilland Canada DHC-6...'. As I said, the ones with thumbnails showing the aicraft flying almost directly towards you (strictly speaking, left to right) are the OLD version. The ones with thumbnails showing the aircraft flying right to left are the EXTENDED version.
Finn 873
You can have both the old and the extended Twin Otter installed, cause they are total seperate installs, so nothing will be broken doing so. As Mark told - look for the thumbnails.'Also You won´t be in doubt when You get into the extended Cockpit if You know the old one. Finn
Bob G. 4
OK, so after installing the Extended and after starting FSX and at the "Free Flight" screen I click on the "Publisher" tab and all I will see is "Aerosoft" but if I click on that to bring up the thumbnails then that's were I choose the old DHC-6 or the Extended? Finn 873
I think both should be visible, but otherwise choose "All" isnstead of filtering via the "Publisher" tab and scroll down until You find f.ex the Twin Otter DIVER, thts one of the extended models. Bob G. 4
OK, I have reinstalled the DHC-6 Extended leaving the original DHC-6 also installed and after starting FSX and at the "Free Flight" screen I click on the "Publisher" tab and all I see is "Aerosoft" and if I click on that it brings up only the Aerosoft DHC-6 liveries both DHC-6 Extended and the original DHC-6. If you choose a thumbnail showing the aircraft flying left to right they are the OLD DHC-6 version, the thumbnails showing the aircraft flying right to left are the EXTENDED version DHC-6 ANYWAY, it works, you can have both and that's what I wanted. Thanks to all of you for your help! Bob
