Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
It's a graphics mode within FSX: Go to 'Options', 'Settings', 'Display', then to the 'Graphics' tab, and check 'Preview DirectX 10' in the 'Global options' on the right hand side. Will require a restart of FSX to take effect. For the pros and cons of DX09 vs. DX10 you may probably want to do some research on the internet. Deputy Sheriffs mopperle 4162 Posted September 19, 2014 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted September 19, 2014 Be aware that Microsoft never fully implenented DX10 into FSX, so they called Preview! And as it has never been documented in Microsofts SDK most of the addons (scenery and aircraft) are not DX10 compatibel and you might experience serious issues like objects not being displayed, appearing to be black and so on. TheAirbusFreak320 1
Ok I checked the pros and cons and I think I'm going to stick with DX9 (but the cockpit shadows look still awsome) Thank you for your time and patience.
Emi 5161
Yep, best will be if you stay with Dx9 or alternatively consider using Prepar3Dv2 instead of FSX. In P3Dv2 you have the latest DirectX11 and shadows are a native part of the simulator.
