William G 11
I have the Beaver and the Super Cub and I am now looking at the A-10. My concern is what kind of frame rates I would get since it is faster. A comparison of my system specs is difficult because my 2.66 Ghz has had a problem for some time that makes it slower than others. So my question is, would the frame rates I get with the A-10 be slower than with the Beaver and Super Cub? The rates I get with them are about as slow as I can stand. Thanks for your responses, William
Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello William, Frame rates depend on lots of factors, but the A10 is more graphics intensive than the Beaver and Cub.
Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted June 27, 2006 Aerosoft Share Posted June 27, 2006 Hello William, Frame rates depend on lots of factors, but the A10 is more graphics intensive than the Beaver and Cub. The A10 certainly demands a bit more memory then the SuperCub... But there have not been a lot of complaints about the framerate of the Hog, some about the VC though as it is a very 3 dimensional structure, unlike a airliner cockpit that is basically a lot more flat. Darrin 0
Hello, Aerosoft! I have a general question about my settings in FS9. What are the optimal settings for the A-10, in a general sense? For instance, Target frame rate: Unlimited or between, say, 20 and 25 Render to Texture: ON, I assume? Transform & Lighting: ON, I assume? Mip Mapping quality: is 8 okay? Hardware rendered lights? is 5 okay? Global Max texture: is HIGH okay? Should I set bilinear, trilinear or none? What about the sight distance: is 60 mi. okay? Cloud draw distance: 40 miles? Autogen? should I control this in my graphics card? Terrain mesh density: is 50 okay? What about simple clouds? Cloud draw distance: 40 miles? Dusk/dawn blending: OFF? I apologize for the number of individual questions...
Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello Darrin, I'm afraid there really is'nt an optimal setting as systems are different, its all about trial and error and what you feel is adequate for you. If it flies relatively smoothly most of the time then that should suffice. But just play around with your settings until you feel its fine for you. Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted March 19, 2007 Aerosoft Share Posted March 19, 2007 any word yet on a presumable release date?? and what is the A- 10 status atm? plz i can hardly w8 for it o Model is done, textures are done. o Half of the gauges work already. o Sound is about 5 weeks away (could be the main delay now, but I want seriously impressive sound) o Missions will start next week, should take a few weeks Our main problem is right now that we need xml stuff done for the animations and things like that. And we are very short in that department.
Darrin 0
Thanks, Shaun! I am experimenting with different settings, to try and find the optimal settings profile. I have to be conscious of the fact that the optimal package will change with time, so I have to be flexible. Thanks, Buddy! ~ Darrin
