tcasclimb 0
Hey guys, really love PFPX, i am well beyond pleased. I however have a little request for a patch, on the map window could you please add a button to toggle viewing the world map in plane view and round/globe view. I plotted a real world flight plan from CYYZ to VHHH and the route seems to go near the north pole, when i add an etops airport using ETOPS 120 the circle seems sort of okay but when i select the ETOPS 180 rule, the circle seems weird, i figure having an option to view the world map as round would make it a little easier to view and understand. Ive attached 2 screen shots to show what i am talking about.
Deputy Sheriffs jrotaetxe 242 Posted August 31, 2013 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted August 31, 2013 Think is not weird. Seems weird as the "cilcke" closes in an area outside view and the "circle" seems a sine wave, but is a circle wihere the lattitude is increasing and is closed in the "other side" of the earth with the Notrh pole inside the circle This happens because we are projecting an sphere in a plane. robb_speed 6
I think the OP is asking for an ortho projected map such as the one attached here. I have to agree it would be a nice addition. Rob
FlightSimSoft.com 283
The cricles are mathematically correct for the map projection used in PFPX. Adding a full globe would indeed be a nice addition and will be considered, but it's not of highest priority presently.
