Joshua Che. 1601
Caused by too big turn radius, FMGS calculates its impossible to meet that fix.
Deputy Sheriffs jrotaetxe 242 Posted June 10, 2013 Author Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted June 10, 2013 Ok. Thank you for the feedback. Think this approach is an interesting case study because in other flights the turn has been VERY narrow and also avoiding NT364, but leaving NT364 to the left. This produce some problems as you can not catch the LOC soon enough to keep you under the GS, thus making a missed approach if you do not react ASAP. Will post an image as soon as I find the behaviour. Regards
planemaker 4
Manually inserting a speed constraint at NT363 could help here. I can imagine something like 200 kts or lower should make the FMS calculate the turn on that speed, giving a signicficantly smaller turn radius. This is also what a RL flight crew would do when they observe such a curve (happens more than often, mostly when ATC assigns directs).
