Step by Step Flight Videos now available (version 1.10)

Recommended Posts

Flying an Airbus is most a bit easier than flying other airliners but it remains a job for two professionals with years of training. To assist our customers we got manuals, forums and now also a great series of videos that will help you to fly the complete Step By Step flight. Do note that this is based on the 1.10 version that we are currently putting through its last test but should be available soon. But even before that version is on your list these video’s should be useful.

I expected a better quality video :(

I think the quality of the video is good enough to show people a video version of the Step by Step Manual.

I would like to thank Rolf Fritze for putting those videos together. After 160 flights in the bus I actually learned some useful information I was not aware of by watching the videos.

Regarding the "quality" you have to make a compromise between file size and resolution. The original file size in HD 1920x1080i (for one part) is app. 2 GB. It has been rendered to the most common YouTube HD format 1080i i. e. to a size of app. 100 MB per part.

Would like to ask, if possible, a chapter covering the "Go Around", to see how do you activate the "blue" paths after your landing runway.

Think it is an excellent caharcteristic of the AXE to put the GA procedure once you choose the approach, but I really do not know how to enjoy this characteristic...

Video tutorial unlikely to be done (if ever done) till the GA Phase in the AXE is reworked after SP1 is complete.

Hi all,

I just uploaded two more video tutorials to YouTube and think that the serie is complete now. Those two cover:

Airbus X EXT Tutorial Part 6 – http://youtu.be/rv0DXxCZJNY

Part 6 (now out of 7) of a video tutorial for the Aerosoft Airbus A320/321 based on the Vol6 StepbyStep Guide. It contains a complete flight from Vienna/Austria to Corfu/Greece with a NPA (Non-Precision-Approach) at LGKR (Corfu/Greece).

Airbus X EXT Tutorial Part 7 – http://youtu.be/MSqzoF0ClvM

Part 7 (now out of 7) of a video tutorial for the Aerosoft Airbus A320/321 based on the Vol6 StepbyStep Guide. It contains the use of ALTERNATE DESTINATION (a complete flight from Frankfurt/Germany to Graz/Austria with diversion to Vienna/Austria) as well as a GOAROUND at Vienna.

Those videos are based on the current development version which will be released soon as 1.16 - enjoy......

Regards,

Hanse

Those two latest videos by Hanse are of superior quality - the picture doesn't "pixelate" anymore in every 20 or so seconds, like in the older videos. Better video capture SW used?

EDIT: I was wrong - they still do it - but far less than the older videos.

Hi,

I did not use any other software than in the previous videos. The problem is the YouTube "compression" format which makes this effect. It does not allow "out- and in phasing". So in the two new videos instead I used "clear" cuts only. You should see the videos in the original format 1920 x 1080 - 50i, 25 Mbits/s but then file size jumps to several gigabytes .....

Regards,

Hanse

Very good video on approach and landing. Now I can see the very many things I failed to properly on my first flight between EDDF and LOWW. Thank you. Aerosoft did a very nice job on this airplane.

Hi,

I just uploaded an updated version of the video tutorials part 6 and 7. Changes are:

  • Bugs removed
  • NPA at LOWI (Innsbruck/Austria) added to part 6
  • Much better quality because I used a higher bitrate. Even that YouTube states they are in HD1080 the differences to "real" HD 1920X1080i 50 Hz are still significant. But you always have to consider the file size for uploading. Both uploaded files already have more than 2 GB where are the "real" ones would have about 6 GB

Hans. Love the videos. I'm about to convert from X-Plane 10 and this is the first aircraft I'm going to buy. Well done. Tell me is there any manuals available for the FMC as I'm used to the B757

The systems manual is very ... light. Best to work your way through the manual #6 (step by step guide).

The latter one is linked to the product page here:
