More screenshots at night for my Airbus X Extended Lights Effect on the engines!! :) Enjoy!!!

We'll be able to see the effect more clearly if you could post nights shots too. Thanks!

Very nice! I love how the landing gear lights up too. The reflections are just bright enough. If only you could try to lessen the light spill on the top half of the fuselage that would be great tweak for Landing Light reflections....

....as for Wing Lights, once you hit the switch, it should light up the engine and the leading edges of the wing (for pilot to see ice build up at night). If you could do that with the same amount of reflection as you did the other one, then you need to post your tweak for Im sure everyone would want that! I know I would!!! ;)

here's what we should aim for...

Matijs,

Can we please include something like this in the upcoming SP release?

Thanks.

BTW Mark79 this is great work, thanks, greatly adds to the realism and something that has been sorely missing from this release.

Hello Mark79!!

:) Thank you for your tips... I will try that, but I don't promise miracles!! ;)

It would be nice, Aerosoft should create "night" textures for the wings and engines as the PMDG 737NGX ... :)

See you soon!!

It is totally wrong to do this with landing lights. At real Aircraft you see that because is a bdedicated "spot" light on fuse that is for inspection of wing/engine. That light doesn't came from landing light. Is symply "unreal" what have you done. Aerosoft "missed" that spot lights on fuse of A320. For more info check this out (nr. 13 light):

Good afternoon,

I have a small Problem with the Wing Light. In the attached Picture you can see, that it´s only working on the left.

But I´ve edited the aircraft.cfg file in the section "Lights" as you have written down.

Could you tell me a solution, please or how i can fix that?

Thank you for your efford

Michael

Greetings,

SirFlight

Check and make sure you have the entry EXACTLY as mentioned....sometimes a missing comma "," or an underscore "_" can cause the lights not to show up. Cheers!! :cheers_s:

light.11 = 8, 19.8, 17.4, -7.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.12 = 8, 8.0, 15.5, -2.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.13 = 8, 19.8, -17.4, -7.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.14 = 8, 8.0, -15.5, -2.0, fx_airbusx_wing

I have exactly the same problem, but only with the A320 too.

I have checked everything as mentioned above. No comma, no underscore, nothing is missing... :confused_s:

wow that's really weird, the fact that the effect shows up means that there's no problem with the effects file. Lemme take a closer look and see if i can resolve this. If you could e-mail me your fx_airbusx_wing.fx file and the aircraft.cfg file so I can try and duplicate it on my system. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply, but i have checked all entries and nothing is missing, like Nizar had told.

Could i send you my fx_airbusx_wing.fx file and the aircraft.cfg file, too?

Greetings,

Could you share your tweak? It does certainly look more realistic!

(no offence Mark79 its a bit too bright and overpowers the textures on the engine and leading edge of the wing)

Thanks for your help, Mark. I will send you my aircraft file tonight.

I think I found what the problem is. It seems that AXE only allows light effects up to "light.18". Anything more than that then it would not display it. (eg. light.19 , light.20....etc)

Your lights section seems to have around 20. Decreasing it to 18 would fix the problem. There is a double entry on both your landing lights and maybe you could delete that. Or you could try my settings below if it works for you since you're also using shockwave lights. Hope that helps!!!

[LIGHTS] // A320

light.0 = 3, -15.0, -54.55, -0.80, fx_shockwave_navred ,

light.1 = 3, -15.0, -54.55, -0.80, fx_shockwave_navwhi ,

light.2 = 3, -15.0, 54.55, -0.80, fx_shockwave_navgre,

light.3 = 3, -15.0, 54.55, -0.80, fx_shockwave_navwhi ,

light.4 = 3, -72.0, 0.0, 1.10, fx_shockwave_navwhi ,

light.5 = 2, -15.50,-55.15, -0.70, fx_shockwave_strobe ,

light.6 = 2, -15.50, 55.15, -0.70, fx_shockwave_strobe ,

light.7 = 2, -71.30, 0.0, 1.10, fx_shockwave_strobe ,

light.8 = 1, 3.90, 0.00, -9.10, fx_airbusx_beaconbot ,

light.9 = 1, 2.30, 0.00, 4.85, fx_airbusx_beacontop ,

light.10 = 10, 42.50, 0.00, -0.50, fx_airbusx_vclight ,

light.11 = 5, 1, -7.2, -7.3, fx_Shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light ( RIGHT WING )

light.12 = 5, 1, 7.2, -7.3, fx_Shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light ( LEFT WING )

light.13 = 6, 37, 0.0, -8.53, fx_shockwave_landing_light_short // Shockwave light ( NOSE )

light.14 = 8, 19.8, 17.4, -7.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.15 = 8, 8.0, 15.5, -2.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.16 = 8, 19.8, -17.4, -7.0, fx_airbusx_wing

light.17 = 8, 8.0, -15.5, -2.0, fx_airbusx_wing

none taken! If only he could tweak it more so as not to show any spill on the fuselage and more light on the leading edge of the wing, then I'd use his too. But the more options we have the better for everyone! :excellenttext_s:

Has the issue with the engine textures disappearing been resolved. I tried it before,but when I turn on the lights the engine pylons where grayed out.

Hi Mark,

I just added your great wing lights and I think I found out why sometimes one wing side (in my case right side, too) is missing: Having added the lights, I switched on both with wing light switch (nothing astonishing so far ;-) ). But when I switch on the logo light on, too, the righthand side's wing lights vanishes - or sometimes only does, when beacon shows up. As beacon also refelcts on the enginge: maybe there cannot be two lights on one texture at the same time? About the connection to the logo light I have no clue, because its far away enough...

Maybe that helps if you are still finetuning ;-)

As I have no clue about creating this, I'd easily have a "small" demand: could you also add the light source on the fuselage? That is annoyingly visible in reality. Aaaand: I agree to the other comments: a little less light intensity would increase night ambience a lot!

Ah, PS: I only have added lights 11 to 14, so the solution above is working helping for me..

Regards - Stefan

Hello Mark. Not sure if you are still monitoring this thread but if so, any chance of a matching set of numbers, like above, for the A321? I like the effects your lights give and also use Shockwave. Thanks.

Edit: nevermind. I'm also having the blinking wing light on the right side when beacon and nav/logo are lit as well. Don't suppose you've found a fix for that have you? I've used your config above and no joy. Be great if they didn't blink that way.
