iPetroSS 542
It resembles a Boeing 727 with propellers? Anyone knows what its purpose is?
jonesrob 37
Unducted fan, or propfan, I seem to remember. It was supposed to be 'the next big thing' some years ago but didn't get anywhere, although the idea pops up every now and then. It was claimed to be quieter and more fuel-efficient, the usual stuff, but didn't take on.

Matt_Smith 1116
Indeed, here's an old video about it: Great video, those were the days, a gallon of fuel cost 0.50 USD with a high of 1 USD, oh how times have changed.
KyleD 1027
Great video, those were the days, a gallon of fuel cost 0.50 USD with a high of 1 USD, oh how times have changed. Right? Near $4 a gallon now here, but I know you guys across the pond have it much worse.... I would cry from joy if I ever saw this again:
