Crash To Desktop (CTD errors)

Featured Replies

My 3rd CTD, 1st using hotfix. Starting a flight KPHX to MMSD. Flight plan was TFD3.TUS J92 HMO IPSEB ENEKO Entered flight plan, including RWY8 departure and RWY 16 VOR arrival. CTD occurred when I went to close the discontinuity between TD and TFD (first actual waypoint). Using checklist w/ co-pilot.

i7 CPU @ 4ghz, 6G Ram, GTX 480 running Win7-64

Files attached.

You can say it is "my system", but, I can run the NGX on a six plus hour flight between major add on airports, or fly multiple NGX legs between AES airports in the same session, or run 10+ hour flights with a 767 or MD-11, all running EFB, WideClient, a weather program, Flight Tracker and a VA ACARS program.

Have not had this much issue with an add on in many years.

I doubt its your system. I just started vatsim in the middle of my flight from KLAX-CYYZ and the screen went black. I already have the updated uiautomationcore in my fsx folder. Like yourself I don't have any problems with any other addons.

No addon comes without its glitches initially.

Need to add some points - 1) Initial CTD was not using Aerosoft NavData, and is repeatable every time. If I switch to Aerosoft NavData I cann get issue to reappear same way - trying to close F-Plan Discontinuity between (T/D) and TFD.

I may be whining, but I am also trying to help . . . , and Eisa, thanks for your comments.

Just had a CDT after selecting BUZARD departure from RW 04 EGSS (Stansted) Everything running smoothly before-hand!

I agree it's a bit annoying. I really can't put two and two together on why the hotfix has caused so many issues with the MCDU. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. I have uploaded my files here. This followed selecting LOOP6 and 25R in the MCDU for a flight from KLAX-CYYZ. Then I got the CTD.

CTD KLAX.zip

Hey guys it's confirmed. Several of my friends and myself have tried this. Any west bound departures out of KLAX regardless of which SID you use will cause a CTD. This must be a database error? Cause I try loading the same westbound runways and different SID's with different Addons and it works just fine.

Hope it gets sorted - Mathijs hopefully you're seeing this.

Hello,

I have had two times the same style CTD error.

First error, happened 2:21 local.

Situation: I was setting up a flight LZIB/LZKZ. After filling INIT A and INIT B, I commenced entering F-PLN, starting by taking LZIB, DEPARTURE, choose RW04, departure NIT7Z. From NIT, enter AIRWAYS, A42 to DEDIS. Enter LZKZ, ARRIVALS. Select ILS01, DEDIS1B, enter VIAS, select KOLUM.

Very shortly after this, second maybe, a CTD error with msvcr80.dll

So I went to download new redistributables (x64 and x86) vor C++ 2005 and install them, then play a bit with TOPCAT profiles (I got one that works nice already, except fuel loading). Also I changed a HTML_Interface value to 0 in FMGC.ini, opening FMGC log by mistake instead first.

At about 3:35 local, I decided to try a flight again. At 3:39 I started entering flightplan. 3:39:50 I entered last part, that is ILS01 from DEDIS1B via KOLUM. No crash.

I realized I left out INIT B so I went to fill it. I started entering values. When I entered CRZ FL, I believe it was block fuel actually, I experienced CTD again with same values same faulting module same everything.

Now I tried to take a look into FMGS log, and it has the same lines at the end. I believe this may be important, since it is a bunch of errors:

We have had a few customers who solved MSVCR80.dll issues. These were all caused by that file not being original (some stupid installers change it for other versions). Most had success with the tips here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcr80-dll-not-found-missing-error.htm

Good Morning!

According to Mr. Kok's ideas I continued troubleshooting:

Checked all my Microsoft Visual C++ Databases - they are up-to-date.

Tried a new and "clean" FSX-Config -> FSX still crashes...

By the way: Mr. Kok, you asked which sceneries I have installed:

I have Addon-Sceneries for both "bad"-Airports: Mega Airport Brussels and Barcelona and very much more... :D

Maybe you could give me the name of the "corrupted"-scenery via PM if you don't want to name it on the Forums? ;)

But I found out something interesting:

As anoter user wrote, he only got the crashes with Data entered on Init-B Page (Fuel, ZFW).

It's the same for me!

I entered LEBL runways 25L + SENIA3Q BEFORE entering weight data -> NO crash!

Then went to INIT-B and entered ZFW -> NO crash!

As soon as I inserted my Block-Fuel ->FSX crashes... :glare_s:

Does it help if I say, that I changed "HTML" to "=0" in the FMGS.ini due to the stuttering problems which some people (including me) experienced? (As mentioned somewhere else in the Forums)

Reagards,

Benni (who now tries to fly with the AXE... :) )

Since installing hotfix 1.01b I have a repeatable CTD (on two systems, mine and a friend's)...any attempt to select rwy 24L and the LOOP6 departure from KLAX causes a crash to desktop as soon as LOOP6 is selected on the MCDU. This occurs with either the included navdata or the Navigraph databases.

I attempted to duplicate this problem after my friend saw it, but prior to installing the hotfix, and could not. After installing the hotfix it CTDs like this every time.

Regards

Bob Scott

I can exaxtly say just the same!! With out hotfix, all the SID work no CTD.

With hotfix CTD.

So this is for me a Hotfix problem and nothing else!

Bruno

And some further tests:

EBBR 25R+ELSIK2C even crashes without Fuel/ZFW inserted... :glare_s:

Then I tried the same Combination with the PMDG 737 NGX:

FSX doesn't crash...

This is all very strange...

I have just purchased and downloaded this. It crashed for me whilst clearing a route discontinuity during FMGS setup at the gate (LAX). For your information I have not yet installed the hotfix reading that some believe the hotfix to be the problem, so this is obviously not the case. I will try again to replicate the problem after installing hotfix.

Without Hotfix:

At the threshold of KLAX 07L

FMGS Setup Complete

Take off commenced.

CTD just after rotation:

Do we know which programme causes corruption of MSVCR80.dll? It might be worth sharing it with us so at least we can decide whether is is relevant or not. I assume it is another FSX add on?

Also, the MSVCR80.dll fix seems complicated. As far as I am concerned my PC updates regularly, is protected by anti-virus and scanned regulary, exceeds the minimum required spec and is in otherwise good order - It never ever crashes!! If I actually ever manage to work out how to do this MSVCR thing will it cause the other application, whatever it is, to fault?

PS. The sfc /scannnow did not find any "integrity violations". My registry checker did not find any faults, my anti-virus scan was clear, there are no available windows updates - it's up to date, all other programmes add-on's and computer functions are normal. A complete windows reinstall is not an option I am able or prepared to do. Can the originall .dll be downloaded?

This is really weird,V1.00 u should'd be crashing :(

My sugestion is reinstall ABE download cclearner and clean the reg.and install back and wait for the v101c will out by today. As josh stated. And see how.I dun think re install window will be a option. If you still got crashes.Re install fsx and only install ABE and the hotfix. And did you put the UIAutomationCore.dll in your fsx files? .Maybe tried to install on your other drive other than C:

Have ctd while i choosing the sids at a airport (navigragh)

Change to naviprodata can select sids at that airport no crash, and take off crash.

tried agin with naviprodata and no crash so far.Has been 4 flights :) And yes am on V101b

Oh ya no to enb, give me crashes in the past

Really hopes it help,i know its not as real as it sound, but with the exp i encounter there is no reason of what i doing, just things i have done that stop the crash

1 more things i tried both without fps limited and with it.I think with fps limited will be more stable? Idk since i have done a fresh install and take off crash as stated on top,i have used fps limited after that. And nothing happen.

lastly if i my method dun work, please please dun give me a negative read marks i have tried helping since 17dec and some did actually solve the problems and some did not and i ended with 2 negavitve.Feel to check my post no lying was indeed helping those i could while the beta testers is not around i think by doing will give those ppl abit of reassurance.I really hope i got into part of the team of ABE :) Its my first plane i ever flown in fsx :)

Hope u guys manged to fix it and a happy xmas :)

OK, I will reinstall. CCcleaner I already have. Does anyone recommend a program that fixes .dll errors, since I don't know iff CCleaner does this?

Hi Folks,

I've been enjoying the AXE for almost a week now and haven't encountered any CTDs during that time.

Well today it decided to happen, and so I seek advice in this forum.

I recreated the CTD 3 times and it seems to originate from the MCDU when selecting a specific SID for departure in LSZH.

The MCDU was in "pop-up" mode with keyboard input enabled.

The message in the dialog box was "FSX has stopped working".

Hi. Yes, I believe there are still a few bugs within the MCDU programming that can cause CTD in certain situations. The developer is aware of this and is continuing to look at the issues.

Using CCcleaner is definately a good move, however it won't fix .dll errors. In fact I don't think there is such a program. dll's are basically independent modules that are called on by other programs. A CTD with reference to a particular .dll indicates that there is some error with that .dll module or it doesn't like the information that has been sent to it and it doesn't know what to do with it. The end result being that it will bring your main program down.

Are we saying that these crashes are as a result of a database error that will hopefully be fixed by developer or should I be trying to troubleshoot the MSVCR80.dll from my side, bearing in mind my PC seems to operate normally otherwise. I am debating running a repair from the Windows disc - is this pointless? Incidentally I did make a flight from EGNX to EGKK, which went well, so this is intermittent.

Also, would be good to hear how others resolved the issue - I am not fantastic with computers so a walk through would be most helpful and very much appreciated!

With respect to the MSVR80.dll error this is a Windows module that is used by many programs. Now this can become corrupted and following the steps that Mathijs has posted may resolve this issue.

In some cases the Airbus X Extended is the source of the issue, and it is difficult but not impossible to track these issues down, and these issues the developer is looking at.

Personally I don't think the issue lies with the Nav Data itself.

During testing I re-installed the C++ libraries and that cleared a lot of my MSVCR80.dll issues, others that remain I'm pretty sure will disappear once the developer has fixed them.

hi since update 1.01b in P3D i get a CTD whilst trying to select a sid whilst route planning it all worked fine before so will reinstall just to let you know i tried everything sugested to fix the issue causing it and no avail

Hi fernando, you have the same set of errors as I do.

I have tried reinstalling all of my C++ libraries, still get a CTD. I am going to do win 7 system start up repair and see if that will fix anything. I will report back.
