Indeed, give us a few hours so we can get a dev involved in this as well.

No problem guys - really appreciate your help! I'll also experiment tonight (US time).

Hey guys, I just bought Airbus X Extended and installed it and it's really nice, but it freezes every 5 - 6 seconds for me as well. I just uninstalled all add ons and uninstalled FSX and re-installed it (I even installed it on my SSD drive) and I installed just the Airbus X Extended on the clean FSX installation. (I have the Gold edition, so acceleration and the latest FSX patch are installed too). I've played around with the graphics settings, even though it shouldn't be the problem, cause I get something like 100 fps at default airports with default scenery etc. I tried limiting my fps externally at 30, whilst keeping FSX fps to unlimited, still no luck. No other add on aircraft stutters like this, and it's the first time I've experienced such behaviour, so I'm pretty sure it's something to do with this particular add on (since there aren't any other add ons installed on my computer or FSX currently).

My PC specs are as following:

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1

Intel Core i7 Extreme 990X @ 3.47GHz

24.0 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 RAM

2x GeForce GTX 580 1.5 GB (SLI Enabled)

Intel SSD 510 120GB

Seagate Barracuda 3TB

I hope you can figure out a fix for this problem soon, as it's a shame it stutters like this at the moment, rendering the plane unflyable to be honest.

Hi to all having this problem,

Unfortunately, this issue is new for us.

I need you to do this,

Go to your, C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\AerosoftAirbusExtended

(Please of course make sure you go to the correct folder for whatever language is relevant to you) (ALSO MAKE SURE FSX IS CLOSED)

Go into AB_ND_GDI.ini

Change

[proto]

protoLevel=L

to

[proto]

protoLevel=M

Now save the file and try again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this fails, then I will need your help identifying the faulting module causing the stutters.

To do that,

go into your FSXMainFolder\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft Airbus X Extended Base\Panel_Fallback\DLLs

Rename all the dlls there with a 1 so FMGS.dll becomes FMGS1.dll

do the same for the AB_ND_GDI.dll in FSXMainFolder\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft Airbus X Extended Base\Panel_Fallback\ND

Now start FSX and start a flight (even though now FBW is probably gone, slew in the air and try AP.) and make sure the stutter is gone, if its gone, its our modules fault, if its not, then the stutter is from an external source.

Now Close FSX

Now rename one module back to its original name, starting with ASINPUT.

Now start FSX again, and do the same (check for stutters).

Repeat the closing of FSX and renaming of the modules til you found the one causing the stutter.

Hopefully, my first suggestions help and you dont have to do the troubleshooting steps.

Hello,

Before I tried any of your suggestions I wanted to make sure that it wasn't any other add ons or tweaks or anything else that was causing it, so I uninstalled everything once more, deleted every single FSX folder, FSX.cfg, add-ons folders etc and I reinstalled FSX clean and Airbus X Extended once more. I set graphics to default (Ultra High) and started a flight from LCLK just flying around on autopilot. I don't know what changed, but it was running smoothly. Then I tweaked the fsx.cfg as before and added uiautomationcore.dll (to prevent unwanted crashes) and it still ran smoothly. Finally I installed Larnaca X and set frame rates to unlimited and locked externally at 30 fps and it's running smoothly so far, i've been flying around for about 30 minutes.

It sucks that I don't really know what was causing the stutter, but hopefully it's gone for good now. I'll keep you posted if it starts stuttering again (e.g. after a certain add on installation, tweak etc)

Thanks for the help though.

Thank you Lazaros, please do let us know if you find the source.

I was having the exact same issue, on a fairly high end machine (5ghz 3770k, 680GTX)

I didn't do extensive testing, but it seems that protolevel tweak fixed the issue for me. Thanks!

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I tried changing to protoLevel=M and protoLevel=H in the AB_ND_GDI.ini and it didn't change the stutter... Ugh. This is getting frustrating.

Make sure you close FSX when you did that.

Please try the next instruction in my post above. The chances of it being a external source is high.

It was closed, system restarted.

Looks like you might be on to something... All test scenerios used the same aircraft (Austrian A321), the same weather (FSX default clear), same time, and same airport (KLNK - miles from any payware airports I have). Antivirus (ESet NOD 32) disabled, external frame rate limiter set to 30 FPS.

First test:

AsInput1.dll

FBW1.dll

fmgs1.dll

Result: No Stutter

Second test:

AsInput.dll

FBW1.dll

fmgs1.dll

Result: No Stutter

Third test:

AsInput.dll

FBW.dll

fmgs1.dll

Result: No Stutter

Fourth test:

AsInput.dll

FBW.dll

fmgs.dll

Result: Stutter every 4 seconds as previously described.

Okay, I will need your FMGS.log, all FMGS.dmp and MCDUFPLData.txt. Zip it up and attach it here. I will look into your issue asap.

In the mean time, if you have navigraph data, please try for me NavData.ini, useNavDataPro=1 to useNavDataPro=0.

FMGS.log - (dropbox link) The other two, FMGS.dmp and MCDUFPLData.txt. were not found on either my C: drive (OS only) or my F: Drive (Flight sim). Can you provide the path to where these might reside?

Testing the Nav Data switch now as well.

thanks again for your help!

If you do not have the dmp files and MCDUFPLData.txt, its fine. For that log you produce, can you confirm that you stayed in the aircraft for at least a min before you exited FSX?

Not sure I can verify it... but I did just perform another test and made sure to put in at least a couple of minutes. New log file: (dropbox link)

Separately, I tested the navdata switch and it had no impact, stutters were still present until I disabled the fmgs.dll

Please retry with this package (re-)installed:

If you have Windows x64 version, then this link:

Also from you logs I notice you have the web MCDU opened, please exit the program fully.

Finally, please try Shift + 7 (I think) to open the 2D MCDU and close it thereafter.

Very interesting... I didn't open it intentionally nor was I using it. (in fact, I have yet to see it, let alone use it on my system)

Trying the C++ redist now, will report back shortly.

lol then do the exact opposite of what I ask you to do, open the WebMCDU and see what happens.

Redistributable installed, stutters persist.

Edit: Also used Mathijs' advice and disabled RAAS and confirmed the data recorder was off. If needed, I will revert to the default FSX.cfg again but doing so previously had no effect.

ha! OK - I tried that in the attached log (stutters persisted). Updated log file (dropbox link)

At this point, I'm thinking that it looks like a full reinstall might be the only way to overcome this issue... However, it's late here in the US Mountain time zone and I need to get some rest. I'll be able to do some further tests tomorrow.

Thanks again for all of your help with this!!!

I am looking at what other possible causes are there now,

since its starting to look like a web MCDU problem, can you try changing the FMGS.ini,

[Common]

Logging=1

HTML_Interface=1

to

[Common]

Logging=1

HTML_Interface=0

My apologies,

Earlier I started the problem seemed to have been solved, when it has not. I still get the pause every 5 sec or so.

I will check back tomorrow to see if there is a solution.

Can you try the above FMGS.ini changes, I have one report of that being the fix.

Yeah, that did the trick for me. I guess it should work for others too.

Hello. I had a problem as at V1VrV2. Has changed in a file FMGS.ini and all became good. But there is other problem - press button " A " a following kind in a cabin - FPS falls with 30 до15-17, the cursor mouse shows constant loading (sand clock), the sound floats and is deformed. To update aircraft does not solve a problem. But as I press again "A" all repeats.
