petermcleland 96 Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I found by looking at the map that FLIGHT provides 12 SPBs and 8 Airfields on Kodiak Island, so I decided to visit all the SPBs with my Icon and the Airfields with the Cub. I based the Icon here at Trident Basin, the only SPB which has Fuel. This is the nearest SPB and it is very close in Kodiak city...It is called Lake Lilly and beyond the end of the lake you can see Kodiak Muni Airport. Touching down on Lilly Lake and hoping I can get out again tomorrow. Plenty of room to stop and today the lake is conveniently into wind. I've found a good firm spot off the beach to... ...park for the night. Here is the overhead view and you can see part of Kodiak Muni Airport at the bottom of the picture.
