How to get Aerosoft products working in Prepar3D

For this guide I am assuming you know how to manually add scenery to the Prepar3D scenery library. You will need to manually add each product to the scenery library in Perpar3D. All the following has been tested and confirmed to work on a clean install of Prepar3D without errors. If you come across any errors check to make sure you have fully followed the instructions and copied all files across to the correct locations. Where installers have asked if you would like to install static aircraft I have always answered no, as I prefer to have AI fill the parking spots on the aprons, so these static aircraft wont be included in the instruction.I wont be taking requests for which products to write instructions for as I can only work through the ones I own. So to kick this thread off I will start with the A's. More will be added as and when I get the time to. For denonstration purposes Ive use \\fsx and \\P3D as my installation paths. Obviously you will need to substitute those with the correct paths for your system.

Update:

You will need to create a dll.xml file for some of the newer aerosoft addons to work. The easiest way is to download FSUIPC and install it for Prepar3D. That will create dll.xml in \\users\your name\app data\roaming\Locheed Martin\Prepar3D

Now add the following text:

Mathijs, the installer works a treat, though haven't got as far as the M's. The Maldives I seem to remember cropping up, as the sim loaded temptation got the better of the and well I guess the rest as they say is history there.

Assuming you have the scenery installed and activated via the launcher you will need to copy the following files and folders:

How do you incooperate the Scenery Tool from AntarcticaX to change season, static aircraft, LOD Radius and lights into P3D?

Fred, I cant remember off the top of my head, will check later on when I get home from work. I suspect changing the LOD radius wont be possible but not 100% sure its a while now since I ported Antacrtica.

Matt, this is a hugely helpful thread. I'm just about ready to take the plunge with P3D and I'm rather relieved to see that Fly Tampa's Hong Kong is covered in your instructions.

Do you have VFR London by any chance ? Thats the only other scenery product I am concerned about.

Yes I do Paul, and yes it does work in P3D, I dont have instructions as I formatted my rig to do a clean install to prove someone wrong about something :lol: If I remomber correctly its pretty simple to get working.

Oh I will ! This whole process is going to take a while, very much one step at a time. In fact it may be some time before I get round to Hong Kong, because initially what I would like to do is get used to P3D, then get Orbx FTX England, which allegedly is due out before the year's end, then add in things like ACG's Duxford, Dave Garwoods Auster and Rapide, and Anthony Lynch's Tiger Moth. Then will come VFR London and some of the Aerosoft planes, followed by FTX Australia and Pacific North West. Its going to be a major exercise, but worth it I think.

Most certainly. Most of which you should have no problems with. Though with the eagerly awaited FSX England we cant say how VFR London will work. Though Im sure with some adjustments the two should happily coexist together.

I'm sure ACG will make whatever tweaks are necessary to Duxford to make it blend in nicely with FTX England. However, as for VFR London, Horizon Simulation's phone seems to be is off the hook at the moment...
