Boarding and Refuelling at the same time

Recommended Posts

Hi

In the next update are you able to have the refuelling take place using the right wing (where refuelling happens on short haul aircraft anyway) also is it possible to de-board and board passengers at the same time as the refuelling (real world operation) please.

Many thanks

Mike

On the refuelling, it all depends on where the fuel receptacle is located. I know for a fact on your commercial aircraft, they use single point fueling meaning that the fuel truck pulls up to where there is a underground hookup, hooks up to that, then the fuel is transferred through the truck, pumps are turned on in the wing or cockpit or both and the fuel is transferred until the amount needed is in the tanks. As far as fuelling while boarding, unless the fuelers are running behind, the refuelling process is usually done before the boarding process even takes place.

Many times, this is not allowed at all, or only with restrictions, such as firetruck must be present. Simultaneous passenger ops and fueling is quite rare.

Re-fueling and boarding at the same time are actually quite a common thing. Never seen anywhere in the UK where it is prohibited.

Would be nice to see this implemented

Simultaneous refueling and boarding is an airline or airport policy issue. There are no locations that are ICAO signatories where it is prohibited by regulation. The only thing that is restricted by regulation is fueling with an engine operating and starting/stopping the APU while fueling.

I work at a airport in the UK and all refuelling for short haul aircraft is done via the right wing, also all airlines that we handling refuel and board at the same time.
