Twin Otter Extended Preview (FSX,P3D)

Featured Replies

I hope you like the the TrackIR, in my opinion one of the most important add-ons to have for flight-sims.

Oh yes indeed , I think it was a very good decision! I hadn't so much time today, but I installed it, downloaded a FSX profile and made directly a test flight... Great!! Specially the possibility to see the Rwy in the base position just by moving the head a bit is great!

Looking really forward to use it with the Otter! ;-)

HEY THANKS OTTO! Much Appreciated!

Hey Daniel and Max! If you see this, this is a current picture of a Grenadine Airways Twotter. Each of them, with the exception of the newly arrived J8-GAA, has got a unique name painted on the nose. This one, J8-MUS, for some reason is named "Macaroni". Lol! The second bird, J8-SUN, is named "Pasture". The third, J8-GAA, is the 4 blader and has the SVG Air logo on both sides of the tail towards the top and on the right side of the nose. As for the other birds, J8-VBS is called "Endeavour", and Max's baby J8-VBQ is "Lagoon".

Cheers.

Thanks, glad you like them, kind of fond of the First Air one too.

Excellent work Peter,

I think my favorite livery is the First Air.

Yep they are named after beaches in Mustique. Here's a close up albeit not a very good one of the "Macaroni"

Peter,

Great paints indeed. With the old twin otter someone did paints of the current RCAF sqn (440 I believe) out of Yellowknife. I hope that they update the extended as well. Until then I will particularly enjoy your MNR repaint when the plane comes out. Thanks for your excellent work!

Thanks.

As soon as we have short nose variant I will be doing a 440 SAR machine and another MNR machine to go on amphibs.

Very cool! Bring on the Grenadine Airways repaints! Now if we could only get a good TVSV scenery somewhere.....

Cheers.

can we get a vista liner expansion pack please.

Chad you've already been told that's not going to happen.

Indeed. The Twin Otter and the Caribbean, a great combination. We definitely need more Caribbean sceneries.

Haha :D , nice how you call J8-VBQ- , "Max' (my) baby", cute. Many thanks to Daniel. I'm still waiting for the images from SVG Air, looks like they have forgotten me and my request for imagesof their fleet... Will ask them once more. Nice photos.

Regards

Great looking liveries, Peter! Very well done!

@a320maxi: Just mail those images over, interior images would be interesting, too!

Meanwhile some images I took at Barra Eogliarry Airport (non Aerosoft scenery, I'm sorry ...)
The exterior is pretty much finished, only some dirt missing. I'm not a fan of a clean TwOtter.
The interior will be repainted as soon as I get the files.

Need to add some more 'usage' to the textures.

Trying to get as close to the original as possible!
Takes some time, but I think it's worth it!

Jeeeeeez! Man, Daniel. To say you're talented is a gross understatement..... Nice work! Keep it up.

Hey Max. If SVG Air's forgotten you, let me know. I'll go down to the hangar and photograph those birds 50 ways from sunday......and maybe monday too... :) and send them to you.

Cheers.

Hi Daniel,

I already sent a mail asking if they already got the photos for me, will wait a bit if I get an answer, hope they got those photos and will send them to me soon. Of course I send you the photos when I get them. Edit: Yes, I will ask if its possible to have photos of the interior too.

PS: Those textures look really georgeous, wonderfull work!

Hi,

I'll wait a bit, already sent an email asking for the photos again, hope they have them... Anyway, if you could take some photos of those planes, maybe even faster than that guy from SVG Air telling me, that it would not take much time (hmmm... waiting already about 3-4 days :lazy_s:). I would be really thankfull if you took some pictures :)

Hey Folks,

Here are some of the paints that I have been working on. Once we have a short nose model and the various variants, wheel ski, ski and amphibious float, etc... I will update some of these models and add a short nose ONMR and RCAF SAR machine. Hope everybody enjoys.

Peter

C-FASS and C-GNDO are two Twin Otters that I used to work on at Bradley Air Services/ First Air back in the 80s and 90s. The company has since stopped flying Twin Otters, but they used to have a quite the presence in the Arctic and Antarctic.

I have completed one Twin Otter flown by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

The final Twin Otter was operated by the now defunct Air Jamaica Express.

The checklist, together with the swichting of the views to the relevant switch/gauge is really a great feature and helps a lot to become familiar with this nice aircraft.

Any news about the soundset yet ?

Yeaah. Right. Forgot about that. Good one, bro. +1 on that inquiry. Anything for us there? A tiny suggestion, TSS (Turbine Sound Studios). Get Chris Petersen on it. Have you heard his King Air and ATR sounds (both HD and non-HD)? Awesomeness! If you guys have access to the bird, get him some personal recording time with it. Just a thought anyway.

Cheers.

There will be two sound sets, both new/reworked
