The Twotter will be just about my perfect FS aircraft. Complex enough to be interesting, good for IFR or VFR, medium or short hops.

+1

Exactly my thoughts.

And many interesting variations for bush flying etc.

on thing viking should have done is titanium landing gear legs with electronic shocks. i now understand and agree with everyones points on this topic and thank everyone for the knowledge that i have gained on this form. the gadgets can be all steam except the engine they need to be on and glass panel just beacause then they are all in a central position and its less clutter.

Sorry but that is not going to happen.

Hi Eric

In order: B777 (PMDG), A320 (AS), BA146 (QW), DH8D (Maj), B744 (PMDG), DC9 (CS), CRJ (AS), DHC6 (AS). Unknown at the moment - B757 (Level D), B787 (QW), MD80 (CS)

The A320 is dependent on turnarounds being possible without reloading the aircraft.

Thanks, Craig, impressive list.

How much time would you typically spend on flightsims in a week?

(mods, sorry for the topic drift, I will stop after this)

Eric

I sim on the weekend. Depending what I have on I would probably fly 12 or more hours. I pick a region and fly around it eg I may decide to fly the caribbean or do a long haul from Europe and then fly locally. Long haul is great because I can go grocery shopping enroute lol

You know that with the Airbus X Extended you can check your MCDU on your phone while selecting your favorite veggie.

  • Deputy Sheriffs

That would be handy. I can check to see how long before TOD. Pity I can't pause the sim by mob if I was delayed!!!

Pause? We are serious about simming here! Put her in a holding pattern! ^_^

From the feature list:

Systems

  • Full featured MCDU (can be controlled via web browser, for example on tablet computers), also, information can be inserted using a the keyboard!

mathijs can we get a animated person letting down the airstair door on the airstair version of the aircraft or a ground crew member opening the door from the outside if not a flight crew member opening it from the inside. the passenger model needs emergency isle lighting and the ding for the seatbelt and no smoking signs, flight safety briefing recording as well. thx

@Chad - or better still (referencing "Otto" above), is there any chance you can lay off the demands for a while? Almost every page in this entire thread you want this or that, and then some; and most of those come across as "demands" and not requests. Many of your demands are totally out of context for their vision of this model and involves making a variant that is extremely rare in the real world, or requires them to build in details that would not be seen in the normal course of a flight and likely kill frames in the process. These guys (Aerosoft) know what they are doing, have a plan for the aircraft, and are going to complete it according to that plan. I realize a forum is a place to express ideas and viewpoints, but at some point the constant demands and requests get more than a little out of hand. Please let Aerosoft just do their work, ok?

Thank you.

No Chad. The feature set has already been defined.

I never said they did not have the utmost knowledge of simulation. I have always respected people that have talents different than mine. aerosoft is a great operation. i understand that the profit margins get smaller the more complicated the product is. i would never make suggestions if i thought they were impossible to accomplish 100% believe that the twin otter advanced will be the best yet .

can not wait to see what surprises are in store for 2013.

surry about my spelling epic fail, never have had good punctuation either! lol

A feature party is not about money (well to a certain point at least). For both Stefan, John and I the most important thing to achieve is to make addons that are fun to fly on even low end systems, but with top notch graphics, flightmodel and rater deep systems modelling.

Nothing is a greater immersion killer than bad framerates or stuttering

Important is also that the addon is apporachable to as many simmers as possible, that means a lot of stuff for the hardcore freak, but still easy to get into for the newbie or those who don´t have the time to dig into the deeper technical stuff.

While You can add a lot of features without affecting fps, most graphical and animation features WILL take a toll on Your FPS.

While animated crews, passengerse etc.. as well as traffic cones, engine covers,GPU's etc needs to be processed regardless wether they are visible or not, so we don´t like that.

90-95% of a flight simmers time is up in the air inside the VC, so thats where we also put most effort, though that doesn´t mean that we won't model the interior cabin.

We prefer to model the cockpit with refrences to a real existing aircraft where we can do our own measurements, Airliners.net is simply not good enough for such references.

The cockpit will then be modelled very closely according to that, though a certain level of artistic and system wise freedom is allowed inorder to get the best out of it in FSX.

Though we do read into customer requests, posted in this forum, don´t expect that the cockpit as seen on the various screenshots, will change apart from the normal progress of texture and 3D modelling refinements.
