installing lukla x mission, lukax and lukla

Recommended Posts

Greetings Everyone,

First, I wish to apologize if I irritate anyone with these series of questions. I am sure there were answered somewhere before and probably a number of times however, I seem to be very challenged to find them. So if you could just muffle under your breath and help me out, I greatly will appreciated the help. I am not new around computers so I will understand what the explanation in getting this resolve. Here it is:

I currently have (among other aerosoft products) the Twin Otter X - Mission Pack, Lulka - Mount Everest X and the DHC - 6 Twin Otter x (yes, purchased them).

Somewhere in trying to figure out why all of the sudden fsx would freeze during missions for about 15 minutes before continuing (happens about 20 minutes apart). I gotten used to it and go do something else until I could resolve it. Anyway, I decided to remove fsx including directories after using the install (including the acceleration pack) and reinstall. Everything installed properly (installed fsx, run, reboot, installed accelerator, run, reboot).

Since I seem to be addicted to Lukla airport my first attempt was to installed the items mentioned. That is where the problem(s) starts. First, I installed Lukla - Mount Everest x, started fsx, checked it off in the scenery but could never find it (vnlk/vnl2). I went on to installed the Twin Otter x - mission pack and dhc - 6 otter x and recieved the message they are already installed. Uninstall and try again. Well after several hours of removing directories, checking the internet for any clues, I decided to uninstall fsx/accelerator again to ensure nothing exist. After installing, I get nothing. No Lukla airport and still the same error messages.

Any help will be grealtly appreciated like what directories are these problems installing files that is still hanging around?

Hello;

What type of operating system do you have,where is Fsx installed?,its been awhile since I've installed the Everest Mission pack,and the other download that comes with it,if I'm not mistaken,you need to manually select the location of Fsx,so it can install itself,and also,inside of the Fsx folder,you should have an Aerosoft folder,these products that you are downloading should be in there,if so,you might just need to manually add them to your scenery in Fsx.Hopefully this will help.Oh yea,you might have to make sure they are active,in the Launcher,don't think this matters,since this product was out awhile before the launcher was used,just go to your updates section in the Aerosoft site,you need to register,if you have not done so,and if the product was registered correctly,it should be in your list of products there,and you can see if there are any updates as well.

Hello Mark and thanks for the reply.

I have Vista Ultima and the download had worked before with no problem what so ever. The FSX installation directory is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe". When installing, the process never proceed far enough to prompt asking where the fsx directory. It starts with the aerosoft icon followed by the a progress bar for a second....or two then, error message" already installed". Even after the who fsx and accelerator uninstalled and removed (so there is nothing of aerosoft anywhere), after the installation of fsx and accelerator, the attempt fail anyway. I have even checked for hidden directories that may contain some hidden files the installer reads. But I will follow up on the other suggestions you offered and see where that take me.

Thanks again for the help,

It is greatly appreciated.

Abraham

Hello Mark,

As mentioned, I was wanted to provide feedback on the suggestions offered. Nothing changed. I realized this produce is old compared to new ones and probably not much interest in it anymore but I will keep plugging away until a solution is resolve. Thanks again for the suggestions. Have a great one.
