Ian Pearse 12
UHPP to UHSS in the Lear Jet. A nice smooth flight after some turbulence during the climb-out. Not much scenery - lots of water. Taxying out: Cllimbing out - a bit bumpy for a while: In the cruise at 30,000 feet, actually FL300 - not a cloud in the sky: Beginning the descent - clear weather ahead: Final approach to runway 01:
Ian Pearse 12
Hualien to Hong Kong. A pretty ordinary flight - until you reach Hong Kong and get the infamous approach to runway 13. Every pilot has to do this at least once - good for us we can do it in a simulator! Clmbing out of Hualien: En-route at fl300: In the descent now, Hong Kong island just ahead in the clouds: Passing the southern end of the runway and over the harbour on our way in: Getting serious now - over the apartment blocks with the lead-in lights and checkerboard ahead Just follow the lights in... Erm, I think it's time to turn now..... Whoa! Hard around and line up for the runway... looking good: And here we are... down in one piece, sweating buckets, but looking forward to a beer!
