Unfortunately I can't get access from outside, having used two different smartphones. All I have done is the 4040 port forwarding on my Zyxel 334 prestige router - but it doesn't help. First issue is the Router, which may not being forwarding the packets over port 4040 or the router may have a built in firewall that is blocking the port. Second issue may be the smartphone, which either cannot receive packets over 4040 or the mobile provider blocks access to ports that are not Internet ports (SMTP, HTTP, IM, etc.) I would recommend checking to see if the router is sending the packets by connecting to 4040 using another PC.
