Did the 2nd leg this morning. Some mistakes during taxiing. Had lots of turbulence and bad visibility during the flight. Had to fly by hand too. When I turned on the Sperry, it did some very steep turns around the set heading. Maybe I should try the standard FSX real weather instead of ASE. <_<

My 3rd flight. In my opinion the landing wasn't as bad as the score suggests. I came in a bit high and lost the glideslope about 20-30 feet above the runway.

Slowly getting the hang of the DC-3. Although there is an odd inconsistency in the engine temps between the 2d panel and the VC of the JF DC-3. In the 2d panel the temps always were rather low, while the VC told me my engines were cooking. May have to look, if there is a patch for this.

Yeeeesssss, finally!!! Mr. Smith had nothing to complain about. He even dosed off a bit after I set the autopilot on "soft ride". Managed a perfect ILS landing with 100% for localizer and glide slope. :D

Gotta love the PC-12. Its such a gentle ride. Even if it is so light that it gives a few points less than the other planes.

I decided to do my one time aircraft switch from the Learjet (too much troubles) to the Citation Mustang.

On final the wind turned from 14 knots from the left to 11 knots from the right. Made me sweat a bit :)

Had a nerve wrecking flight from Oslo to Vagar. Severe icing problems, my manifold pressure circled the drain 2 times forcing me to do an emergency decend. Both times the pitot failed as well (heater seemed to have no effect), so I had to rely on the trimmer to keep the speed healthy. Finally I found that the ILs localizer was way off the runway direction (may have to do with the freeware addon?) and I got the off the runway problem althoug I was bang on (really seems to have something to do with the airport being so far up north) - well at least I survived and got 1 leg further :)

MauneiL, the ILS doesn't match the runway heading as it is an offset ILS. It basically brings you to a point where you should have visual with the actual runway and can turn onto the heading. It is a pain to fly, but this is why it is called the Round the World Challenge! ;) I'm sure there will be more...

If you thought that the ILS for Vagar was a pain... you should see the ILS for Rwy 22 at PAPG...

Thanks for the comments guys. Managed to do the next leg. Quite a nice flight. No major problems, only the elevator/aileron control during taxi and a bit of banking after take-off. ILS landing was smooth, (only got the off the runway bug like everyone else) :)

The "off runway error" is back - may really have something to do with the heading, as it was gone on the previous flight landing on rwy 22. Flight and landing was okay, although I never get the elevator and aileron control right when taxiing in strong wind.

Yay, last leg of phase 1 :D

Now I only have to repeat the 3 landings with the "off runway surface" error. :)

Yeh same for the addon aswell, :rolleyes:

:rolleyes::D

Re-done the first 2 landings, where I had the "or runway error". Teached me another lesson not to rush things :rolleyes:

First landing went great, but for the second I came in mucht too low and even got lower points than with the error :wacko::rolleyes::blush:

Not sure why I go so low points again. Given the cross wind the landing wasn't so bad - ah well, at least some room for improvement in the next phase of the journey ;)
