azflyboy 1 Posted July 18, 2010 Share Posted July 18, 2010 What the heck, I'll take a swing. The engine appears to have been built by Glenn Curtiss, who was born in Hammondsport, New York. As for when the engine was built, it looks like it was built around 1908-1910. If you meant who invented the inline aircraft engine in general, that's usually credited to Charlie Taylor (Cerro Gorodo, Illinois), who built the first engine for the Wrights in 1903.
