Bjorn Comhaire 27 Posted June 23, 2010 Share Posted June 23, 2010 It has been noticed by some that on final approach the nose attitude of the A300 can be quite high and especially in the 2D panel this makes it difficult to see the runway at very low speeds. In older versions of FS you could change the seating in the 2D but in FSX this no longer works unfortunately. There is an easy fix to this issue however. In the FSX -> SimObjects -> Airplanes -> Simcheck A300 folder, open the "aircraft.cfg" file (in Notepad or a similar basic text editor) and change the "[flaps.x]" sections with the text below. Basicaly what this update does is increase the lift and pitch effect of extending the flaps resulting in much better visuals on final approach. We loose a little bit of realism because of this but we sometimes have to bow to the laws of flight simulator Björn [Flaps.0] type= 1 span-outboard= 0.840 extending-time= 32.000 system_type= 0 damaging-speed= 230.000 blowout-speed= 280.000 lift_scalar= 0.9500 //0.480 drag_scalar= 1.000 pitch_scalar= 0.95 //0.520 flaps-position.0=0.000, 0.000 flaps-position.1=0.000, 0.000 flaps-position.2=8.000, 0.000 flaps-position.3=15.000, 0.000 flaps-position.4=25.000, 0.000 [Flaps.1] type= 1 span-outboard= 0.100 extending-time= 64.000 system_type= 0 damaging-speed= 265.000 blowout-speed= 280.000 lift_scalar= 0.225 //0.160 drag_scalar= 0.580 //0.400 pitch_scalar= 0.225 //0.100 flaps-position.0= 0.000, 0.000 flaps-position.1= 16.000, 0.000 flaps-position.2= 16.000, 0.000 flaps-position.3= 25.000, 0.000 flaps-position.4= 25.000, 0.000 [Flaps.2] type= 2 span-outboard= 0.960 extending-time= 32.000 system_type= 0 damaging-speed= 265.000 blowout-speed= 300.000 lift_scalar= 0.400 //0.150 drag_scalar= 0.830 //0.930 pitch_scalar= 0.255 //0.200 flaps-position.0= 0.000, 0.000 flaps-position.1= 15.000, 0.000 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
