BM Take-Off Weight

Hi

I notice in the aircraft payload menu for the BM that it is 74 (approx 34Kg) pounds overweight.

Is this due to water ballast being full every time FSX starts?

It doesn't seem to affect take-off performance.

The un-powered glider is only 8 pounds (approx 3.7Kg) overweight.

Is it anything to worry about? - Just ignore it? :rolleyes:

Hi Peter,

Sorry, the team must have missed this one, I did :wub: I personally don't take much notice therefore tend to ignore it. You could adjust the pilot and fuel weights to bring it down. Other than that Joachim will no doubt give you a more technical answer than I could.

I answered 2 times, and both answers are gone!

Sorry.

Here again:

In reallife all the planes ha the same water tank size, but the motorized versions aren't allowed to be as heavy as the pure glider.

I don't know why it happened, that the BM has overweight. We wantefd to prevent it, with making the watertanks smaller, then they are in reallife.

It is no real issue. This happenes in reallife every day. In fact, there are people who overload their planes even more.

FSX is really limited regarding the ballast system.

You can't set it standard empty.

So you must adjust it for each flight.

In this case you can change the current entries in the aircraft.cfgs to this:

[Water Ballast System]

;/Tank.n = Gallons, Long, Lat, Vert, iValve

Tank.0= 1.03,-11.92, 0.00, 0.98, 2 //Rear Fuselage

Tank.1= 19.95, -0.67, -8.11, 0.00, 1 //Left Outboard

Tank.2= 19.95, -0.67, 8.11, 0.00, 1 //Right Outboard

This is from Discus B

Just take care that you'll really adjust.

Joachim
