Intelliscene config for AES

Recommended Posts

Hello all

since Avsim does not work, can never find intellscene config for overland aircraft, I got a new PC and I forgot to back up downloaded overland intellscene :(

I wanted to ask if someone would be so kind and sent me an email

Thank you very much for your reply

Hi Dave

You do realize that you can set up the configs yourself, don't you?

It's very easy, fully intuitive, and only takes just a couple of minutes to do it using the Configuration Utility in AES.

One thing I would like to see is AES does not over write a Intelliscene CFG with each new version. Many times I have tweaked my CFG's only to have a new version come out and then I have to install them all over again.

Just an idea...

Sorry, that is not true, as long as you use AES as designed. AES will only place a intelliscene to known aircraft, when there is NO file found before. And all this data are stored in a file, not overwriten by AES Installers. So aslong as you use the "official" way, you even can delete all intelliscene.cfg's you will get them back with YOUR configuration.

But when users allway delete files, removes AES before a new version is installed, I can't say what happens.

I've never had that happen ever...I have created intelliscene.cfg files for well over 100 different aircraft (both payware and freeware) and they've never, ever changed after installing a newer version of AES.

Since the intelliscene.cfg files are created by the user based on individual aircraft and they reside in that particular aircraft's folder, I don't see how installing a new version would overwrite those CFGs...the installer would have to manually check every single aircraft folder you have and see if there is a CFG in its folder. Even so, the intelliscene.cfg files are "user-created" and not "pre-defined" by AES, so there's no way it could know what CFG files the user has created.

Can you elaborate on exactly what is happening to your intelliscene.cfg files after you install a new version of AES? Are the exit locations and cargo door locations changing? What about the location of the nose gear pushback points?

I'm curious...

Is this a new feature in the newer versions of AES or something that has been there all along? Because to be honest the last few versions I have not noticed this problem, in the past I have. If this has been fixed in later versions well done Oliver...
