As some user reported problem with ATI graphic cards the developers of TML studios performed some test

Here are the statement of TML Studios about the results of these test published in the TML forum:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Issue Description: Black screen / crash while loading route

Please take the time to read the following text carefully as it is a detailed description of our tests referring crashes that happend with the

ATI HD 48xx series, Windows Vista 32 bit/64 bit and World of Subways Vol.2.

Our test graphics card was an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, PC systems.

At first we made some modifications / changes within the “model”.pak folders. The changes are in the field of representation of objects,

but are not or hardly noticeable.

Furthermore – within our tests we noticed that the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 needs a strong power supply.

We assume that this affects the whole ATI Radeon HD 48XX series.

We tested several power supplies. Here are the results:

400 Watt power supply:

We are in the WoS Vol.2 main menu. After selecting a route and a subway car we pressed start. While loading the route the loading

screen freezed and went to a black screen. WoS vol.2 crashed and we got back to the windows desktop.

450 Watt power supply:

Same issue like above. WoS Vol.2 crashed while the loading process.

550 Watt power supply:

We are in the WoS Vol.2 main menu. After selecting a route and a subway car we pressed start. The route has been

loaded and we completed the route without any crashes. The same result we received by selecting a mission in the main menu.

No crashes – we could finish the mission successfully without any problems.

ISSUE: When we finished the route or mission and we returned to the main menu for selecting a new route or mission

the game crashed after pressing the button “start”.

650 Watt power supply:

Dual Core and Core 2 Duo processors are working perfectly. Routes and missions could be completed successfully.

No crashes when we returned to the main menu and started a further route or mission.

ISSUE only on Quad core processors:

Here we got the same problem like above. When we finished the route or mission and we returned to the main menu

for selecting a new route or mission the game crashed after pressing the button “start”.

1100 Watt power supply:

World of Subways Vol.2 works perfectly on all systems – Dual Core, Core 2 Duo AND Quad Core.

Our test result:

Not only the ATI Radeon 4870 X2 needs a strong power supply. The stronger the CPU is the more powerful MUST be the power supply.

We recommend the following:[/color]

1. If you are using an ATI graphics card of the 48xx series and a Dual Core or Core 2 Duo we

strongly recommend a 650 Watt power supply as minimum. For all who have a Quad Core system a higher one.

2. Download the file “model.rar” (70 MB) on your hard disk:

Unpack the file (approx. 602 MB).

Go to the main folder of World of Subways Vol.2 then further into the folder “data”. Rename the existing file “model.pak”

(for example “model_old.pak”). After that copy the downloaded “model.pak” into the folder “data”.

Please note:

All test results and our recommendation based one and only on our tests.

We cannot give any guarantee or warranty that this way we described will work on all pc systems.

Best regards,

Mike Korn
