good stuff - I'm looking forward to test-flying the plane.

FYI it's easiest to *search* with "gen2???.zip" - this will find both gen2fs9.zip and gen2fsx.zip (you need to create a free flightsim account)

Here's the readme from the download:

LAK Genesis 2

for FSX

Thank you for downloading this aircraft designed using G-Max by David

Rowberry.

****************************************

The GENESIS 2 is a modern Standard Class racing sailplane of unusual

configuration,it is made of composite materials, with a self-stable wing,

utilising the latest design and aeronautical construction technology.

The Genesis wing is naturally stable. It therefore does not require a

horizontal stabilizer to compensate for its instability. The small

horizontal surface found at the top of the Genesis' fin is used only to

control the glider's angle of incidence. The wing has reverse sweep in

order to put the variable masses close to the centre of gravity, and

incorporates water ballast tanks. Thanks to the small size of the

fuselage, the total drag of the machine is less than that of other,

conventional gliders of the same generation. The Genesis is spin

resistant and has very sound handling qualities at low speed. Its

performance is better than that of many Standard class gliders, the goal

sought from the beginning having been to "do better than Schempp-Hirth's

Discus."

Genesis was created by the sailplane engineer Jim Marske, with Robert

Mudd assisting with control system design, cockpit layout and production

engineering. John Ronce designed the wing airfoils. The original design of

GENESIS was refined by "Sportine aviacija" (LAK). It has been certified

under The International Joint Aviation Requirements program.

I owe thanks to Bob De Leon , who's aircraft this model depicts, for

providing the information , Max Roodveldt and the guys at Flight Design

Studio forums for the codes which I have employed in some of these

animations , and Ian Forster-Lewis for the L/D gauge code .

Installation

--------------

Either unzip to a temporary folder, (and then transfer) or straight to

your Flt Sim AIRCRAFT folder .

The aircraft will appear listed under Genesis2 .

****************************************

Flying

---------

See Genesis-ref data in the "Documents" folder

If you have not yet found it "Sim Probe" is a ridge lift generator

available from ... http://www.virtualsoaring.org ...that greatly enhances

the FSX gliding experience .

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or constructive

criticisms at.....

I have flown and tested this model in FSX-SP2 without any problems,

however, although there is nothing in this programme that will harm your

computer, usage of this program is entirely at your own risk I can not be

held responsible for any damage, real or perceived it might cause to your

system.

files in any commercial way without my prior consent and approval .

Have fun

I know Dave's got a few more at the lighter end up his sleeve but a few nice links for more flying wing ideas!

Dave just mailed me that he is working on a fix for the yawstring-direction and some handling refinements for the Genesis

Bert

when's that's done it would be helpful to have some comment from someone that's flown it, e.g. glider model, 2D/3D panel/instruments, sounds, flight model...

Hi guys

Thanks for the kind words , glad you like it , sorry about the reversed yawstring and fs9 rudder :embaressed: . I am posting a fix and also some minor handling refinements as suggested by a Genesis owner, just waiting for him to get back to me .

A Marske Pioneer is definitely on my to do list and another hang glider ,but at the moment I have a Mitchell Wing U2 on the go (a bit of power involved here I'm afraid ) .So many aircraft to do..... not nearly enough time !

Ian,

I can recommend you to have a look at it's digital vario. It looks superb and maybe you can use some of ideas on how to do things on a digital instrument (like text-fonts in 3D for example).
