I have added a French version of the Nav Bar to make it a little easier for our friends from France to navigate the SOAR site. :yahoo:

You may access this directly by bookmarking your SOAR page to

http://www.virtualsoaring.org/goto_french.html

There is also a link on the main SOAR entry page, so not to miss Chris's great video intro!

Hope this helps some and with Norby's help we will be also be adding some French text to the pages as we can. Enjoy and if anyone has any other suggestions to make the site more friendly to our friends in France, please drop me an email.

Thanks for this. The FFVVV are a very active virtual soaring group, both on and off line. During the winter months they run a series of races set in France. As you may recall Norby posted an invite to all SOAR members to join up with these races and make them truly International.

Norby, Mic and Myself (All FFVVV and SOAR members) appear to be the only members of SOAR competing in the these races. The season is nearly complete now, but my thoughts now range to the 06/07 Northern Hemisphere Winter season. Would it not be really good to have a SOAR team of international virtual pilots competing in the next series of races.

Here are the Race standings after 10 races:

Hi Andy,Norby, all French Pilots and organizers,

The work that FFVVV is doing in virtual soaring is a wonderful and truly remarkable endeavor. With all my I heart I want to be part of it in some way. I will do all I can to fly with them, promote their activities, and give of my meager skills if requested.

I have always been an advocate for multi soaring but my poor internet connection ( 56 K upload and 400 K download speeds and resultantant latency problems) has pretty much smashed me into the rocks in the past. As soon as the Southern Alps Contest is wrapped up and put to bed, I am going to put out a real effort to get connected to the APS server, and TeamSpeak and see if something workable can be achieved.

Cheers, :AA:

Don

I shall really look forward to that and I hope it goes better than the problems you had in Alpine Race (Max Cup).

FSInn may help a lot. A good first go would be to try and get Teamspeak working, I recall we could communicate with you during that race.

FFVVV and APS members asked me to thank you Karen and Don, "from the bottom of the glider".
