Chris Gordan 0
Karen informed me that there have been more emails, supposedly from the staff (or director) @virtualsoaring.org, that contain viruses. I have once again made adjustments to the mail scripts, but I doubt that this will help for long. It seems that any web based mailing system can be compromised, or at least spoofed. So, once again...We do NOT send out bulk email, nor would we attach files to messages. We have the servers and forums for distributing files etc. DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS THAT MAY APPEAR TO COME FROM US!!
FredPlatt 0
hmm, this is nasty stuff.....While on the subject - I get emails with attatchments on them, saying that I've been sending people this email, with the attatchment on it, saying that delivery of the message failed.... are they trying to fool me, or am I infected? I think it's probably the former, because I have a hotmail accound - it's only infected by Microsoft! (oooh, below the belt!)
Harry Chittick 0
There seems to be an epidemic of virus, worms, malware, scumware, data miners etc. I just recently fought off an assault on two of our house computers. Thanks to Norby's suggestion I have found that www.help2go.com is an invaluable tool. I strongly suggest that you visit the site. Go to the Q&A forum and read the sticky posts at the top about how to protect your computers. There is a great deal of freeware available to clean existing malware off your computer and then block any future attempts. Anti-virus software is no longer sufficient. Yesterday we ran a check on my business partners computer which had Norton already running. Between AdAware and spybot search and destroy it found over 700 malware items on his hard drive.Harry

FredPlatt 0
Unreal. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to send a signal to fry the comps of the offending party? That's an excellent idea! I might start learning hacking just for that purposes! Start a charity called "The Anti-Spam Foundation"
