Hello Horst,

Have you tried doing one of the tutorials!

To set the Heading bug, click on the HSI so its enlarged then press the HDG button, then use the large knob at the top right to adjust the bug.

Now bring up the AFCS control and light up SAS1 and 2 by pressing on the SAS1 button. Set the Radar Alt to whatever height you want..

Then press the RDR Alt button.

Then press the APPR HVR Button and you should lift off.

Then select your Long Velocity, press the Auto HDG button the helicopter should turn to the selected heading.

Then press Depart, you should then move in the desired direction.

Ok Shaun, thanks, so far so good, selecting velocity brings only 50 nm speed. But what do you do if you want to go the heli with higher speed in a different direction without the help of any navaid, only with the help of the heading bug? Trim does not do it, since moving the bug is not working in that case.

Regards, Horst.

@Ronnenberg:

Changing the Heading of the Helicopter is actually as easy as Shaun already told.

If you are in Hover on a specific Radar Altitude, e.g. 100 feet, you have to activate 'AUTO HDG'

in the Autopilot Pedestal or Shift + 5. The Chopper should than turn to the actual Heading bug position.

The PFD can be in all modes (HSI, HVR or MAP), selected with the 'MODE' button on PFD.

Next thing is to press the 'HDG' Button on the PFD. If you then move the mouse over the UCK (Universal Control Knob),

a plus or minus sign apppears. By clicking left mouse, you turn the Helicopter left or right. You will see the heading bug move in the

specific direction.

Same with Decision Height (DH) or Course (CRS).

Just make sure, the desired CRS, HDG or DH knob is pressed first. To be seen over the TRQ Indication of Engine 2.

To move faster than 50 nm, you just have to keep you mouse left buttton in the + area of 'LONG VEL' of the autopilot, up to 115 nm.

The manual is sometimes not very consistent. Sometimes saying 'Universal Control Key', next time Heading Selector.

May this was the confusal.

Hope this helped you.

Frank
