bradley27 26
Okay...Now im using FS9.1, i use LHR2008 & UTE and thats it, nothing else should mess around with autogen/textures in the UK otherwise yet i noticed a while back that i was missing the Canary Wharf area & the Dome and it seemed London City Airport had become a little further from where i thought it used to be, so in this screen shot youll see that an addon Canary Wharf area i found on Avsim has been installed yet dumped in the weirdest place and the dome is still missing, what is going on here!!!??? johnny_15b 0
Hey,I bought UTE myself and use it only once as i notice weird things happening too. For example, a bridge not long enough for a river crossing. So what i did is to uninstall UTE and install GEPRO instead and voila everything back to normal.I also make my own photographic scenery and i have notice that FS2004 is not very accurate on the coordinates (latitude and longitude )Good luck to you
Rafal Haczek 1612
what is going on here!!!???Well, hard to say what is going on, especially that I do not know the AVSIM addon you mentioned. Uninstall it just in case. Also make sure your UTE entries are superior to any other Lonon area entries (and preferably as first entries after defaults at all) in your scenery.cfg.to uninstall UTE and install GEPRO instead and voilaIt is not INSTEAD. UTE and GEP are two different addons and do not exchange one another.UTE gives you landclass, precise roads, rivers and coasts (plus 3D night lights) and GE gives you ground textures.I don't have such UTE problems and I'm sorry about you since this is an expensive and excellent addon you have used just once. It's not perfect (some problems with framerates and blurries) but you should give it a chance. Many preople use it and it changes the MFS world to unbelievable levels of realism (if you care).Best regards,Rafal

Snave 466
Show your scenery .cfg. It looks like you have things reversed. Did you install UTE AFTER the London scenery, by any chance. If so, that will be the problem. The relative positioning of addons in FS is important. If that is the case there is no need to reinstall anything, just reposition the scenery menu entries. Generally, I would advise moving the UTE bloc to just above the default scenery entries, but below the entry for `addon scenery`. It is imperative to retain the positions of the UTE entries relative to each other, but as UT provides the `platform` on which all other addons work, it should be much lower in the menu system, allowing anything above to modify its entries. Rafal Haczek 1612
OK, as we guessed, you have a messed-up config. You can clean it up via the Scenery library inside the FS by moving the UTE entries up.Or you can do it by hand in the scenery cfg file (in Notepad) like this:Cut the following UTE areas...[Area.131]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 1Local=SCENERY\UTEUR1Layer=38Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.132]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 2Local=SCENERY\UTEUR2Layer=39Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.133]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 3Local=SCENERY\UTEUR3Layer=40Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.134]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 4Local=SCENERY\UTEUR4Layer=41Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.135]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 5Local=SCENERY\UTEUR5Layer=42Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.136]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe 6Local=SCENERY\UTEUR6Layer=43Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.137]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Europe LightsLocal=SCENERY\UTEURLTLayer=44Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=[Area.138]Title=Ultimate Terrain - Ind/Comm LandclassLocal=SCENERY\UTEURLCLayer=45Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=... and paste them right after your default entries (should be number 38) and save.Of course you will have to renumber the entries following them.Yes, do some cleaning as numbers should not be omitted, they should go one by one (as many entries as many sceneries added). That's it, should work!Best regards,Rafal
Snave 466
Hi, Snave!VSLooks like you prefer being read to reading. Or you like explaining explanations to make them clearer. Bradley, No problem, attach it here and I, Snave or someone else will surely have a look at it.Best regards,RafalIf you don't understand what is going on you are unlikely to be of assistance in this topic. Stay quiet and perhaps learn something. Your explanation is completely incorrect. Although the advice is not. The FS menu system within the sim , commonly known as the GUI or Graphical User Interface, REVERSES the order in which things appear in the scenery .cfg. So what is at the TOP in the scenery .cfg will be seen at the BOTTOM in the GUI... For this reason you need to move ALL the UT entries DOWN (and not up as mentioned by the reply above) so that, when viewed in the GUI from within the sim the UT entries retain their structure and order, but are positioned BELOW `addon scenery` and above all the default scenery entries. If you wan to move the entry there is no need to do it manually in the scenery .cfg as you can corrupt the entire thing. Instead use the `move down` command in the sim itself, moving each UT entry in turn via the scenery menu and the `move down` command until they are in the same order as before, but much nearer the bottom of the menu window. Imagine that everything is layered as you see it in the menu window: The stuff at the bottom is the base layer, every addon above it layers on top of the one beneath. You build on the default layers, with the single exception of the `addon scenery` folder which is often used by installers putting new scenery into your sim. UT is effectively a revised `base layer` for the sim itself, so needs to be placed near the bottom of the scenery menu so that other scenery addons modify it, rather than the other way around... When you understand this, you can also understand why the order in which scenery items are loaded can be very important to FS and why your installation was showing errors. If you don't understand this, please come back to us. bradley27 26
Right so just to re check i can see my own CFG above starts to get totally out of order with sequences so am i meant to change them all to match a decending order? Rafal Haczek 1612
Dear Snave,I extremely dislike pointless discussions, so I'm not going to involve into one. But I will do an exception and post again due to your answer. My rather short and jolly reply ( I even used the well-known emoticon) met your long rather offensive expression. What is more it is not me who completely misunderstood words. So I hate to do it but I have to defend myself. As briefly as possible, of course. If you don't understand what is going on you are unlikely to be of assistance in this topic. Stay quiet and perhaps learn something. That's pointless and very rude. I came here in order to help Bradley, so what exactly is your problem?Your explanation is completely incorrect. It is completely correct. That's how I've successfully taken care of my scenery entries for years. I nowhere said it is how YOU do it.The FS menu system within the sim , commonly known as the GUI or Graphical User Interface, REVERSES the order in which things appear in the scenery .cfg. All that is absolutely true. And in which point did I say anything reverse to you? Entries being prior (hence priority) to other scenery entries in the scenery.cfg have lower numbers. So to make an entry prior, you take it up in scenery.cfg. I also clearly pointed Bradley to set them right after the defaults, which you just repeated. So where exactly do you disagree? And no, changing entries inside of the scenery.cfg has never caused any problems to me. I don't know about you, but I respect your experiece in advance. Why so much agression when just trying to help someone?Best regards,RafalAnd Bradley, I'm just rewriting you scenery.cfg. Make a safe backup of yours and I will give you the corrected one to try in a few moments.Of course if you find my help incorrect and misunderstandable, use Snave's explanation. It is correct.I may not be the smartest guy in the world. It's true. Anyway, I'll come with the config in a moment.
Rafal Haczek 1612
Hey Bradley! Here's your scenery.cfg after two-hour visit in a beauty saloon. Man, that was messed-up! How could your FS world work fine so far?I assume you have made a safe copy of your scenery.cfg and put it somewhere you know well.OK, now open this attached text file, copy everything (ctrl+A, ctrl+C), open your scenery.cfg, clear it (ctrl+A, DEL) and paste the new text (ctrl+V).Save and launch the FS to let it rebuild the scenery config file. Then go and check your London area. Hope it's fine!A few remarks:1. Man, you have loooots of addons. Lucky you. 2. Are you sure your Canary Islands work fine? You seem to miss the exclude entries plus I'm not sure about the CanarySim compatibility in your case.3. In my opinion you have too many London area addons. It is not good for your frames, textures and possible OOMs. I have removed only the Wharf addon. The rest was rearranged.4. Keep your entries like that: mesh first, landclass later and airport as the last one (in case of addons including such separate folders). You had it mixed up (once like that, in other cases the opposite).5. Remember to have the AES entry always as the last one.6. Keep your scenery arrangement clean for future! It will let you avoid surprises like the London one. All I write here is in relation to the Scenery.cfg logic, as I mentioned from the beginning. If you are going to use the FS internal Scenery Library for cleanup, the priority idea (what is up and down) will be opposite, just like Snave explained well.Remeber that for future tweaks!Check and report if everything is fine.Scenery.txt
bradley27 26
What do you mean regarding the Canary Island/Canary Sim Photo Scenery?!?!Yea i am very grateful that me and dad are both into this, we buy nearly every addon there is as long as its a top class addon, Fly tampa are the best! Rafal Haczek 1612
What do you mean regarding the Canary Island/Canary Sim Photo Scenery?I used to have the CanarySim addon (I don't have it installed at the moment) and I remember there was a special setup which had to be used if you also use the Aerosoft version of Canary Islands. Check it! What is more, these two addons have never been 100% compatible. They work together but with some glitches. And give my best to your dad. Great to have FS families around! Snave 466
Rather than criticise the number of addons you have Bradley, I would simply like to offer one additional tip: Using the FS scenery menu GUI, as I prefer, you have an easy way to disable or enable sceneries in areas where you are currently not flying or flying. Simply uncheck the box and the scenery is disabled and will not be loaded for that particular session. It is not removed or stored elsewhere, so it's still where you want it to be, but it is a valuable tool for troubleshooting and for enhancing boot performance when loading the sim. If you're flying over London, you don't really need the Canaries loading - unless you're flying from London to the Canary Islands of course!I'm sure Rafal will explain how you can also do this directly in the scenery.cfg but again, editing this directly can cause problems as I have personally fixed numerous `failure to launch` issues in FS that have been directly attributable to attempts at manually editing that file. Rafal Haczek 1612
I'm sure Rafal will explainNo, I won't explain anything more. I have better things to do in my life than sharing my limited time to help someone and simultaneously being offended by someone else. So, enough from me. I hope I helped you, Bradley. If not, take my apologies.Best regards,Rafal
HB-HFK 0
Hello everyone,I use a very helpful and easy to use software called "SCM2004 Scenery Manager" by Hans Hartmann. It is freeware available on Avsim. I highly recommend it. I have no problems or worries with numbering my sceneries. This is done and updated automatically. I can declare several sceneries at the same time, re-arrange them, drag-drop, copy paste entire sections, etc.Very helpful and user friendly indeed. bradley27 26
Yea i mean i was rearranging things on the Scenery List on the FS2004 in menu tab, and i removed UTE & UT USA/CANADA as it was messing up the state of landmarks, Statue of Liberty/Canary Wharf/Millenium Dome etc, they have all come back now but as mentioned regarding the Canary Islands Addon & Canary Sim Photo scenery (freeware) i have not sorted that area yet. plus as you see on my Scenery CFG all the numbers out out of sequence past the default ones that is and im affaid of f*cking up things further
