Gps Beaver Fsx

Featured Replies

I just installed the FSX Beaver to my surprise I found that its doesn't have a 2D panel, which is ok if only it had a readable GPS. Most of my flying is in the bush (Alaska). I rely a lot on my GPS and I also have FSNav in my FS9.

What would anyone suggest for a solution to my problem?

Thanks to all in advance.

Chief

You could alias the default beaver panel to it which has the GPS pop up.

Copy this into a blank cfg file and put it in the Beaver panel folder...

alias=DeHavilland_Beaver_DHC2\panel

Thanks KG, what do you mean by copy into a blank cfg. file? I am sure this is clear to most people but, I am somewhat "computer challenged". I did get to the panel folder and it has a lot of info in it, so not sure where to insert the alias.

Thanks again

No problem ;)

KG I hate to bother you again, your suggestion and patched worked, but now I don't have a VC panel. Is there a way to have both like the default Beaver in FSX?

On another subject: where is the Aerosoft Beaver "Manual" The keys and other commands that work in the default Beaver don't work in the Aerosoft Beaver.

Thanks,

Chief

Sorry to hear that, hope you've got the VC back?

Unfortunately I haven't got the Beaver so I didn't realise the vc is set up through the panel.cfg.

I can't think of anything else to do, sorry, I think it would need to be somebody who has the Beaver.

Attach that file (panel.cfg) to your post and I'll see if I can add a 2D GPS to it, i'm sure the people at Aerosoft don't mind, not like I can use it and its onlt to help you out

Hi Chief

Having way to much time on my hands, I thought I would have a go at adding a 2D panel plus GPS pop up to the Beaver, I must admit that I don’t fly her as often as I used to now I’ve got the Twin Otter.

If this is what you are after (see attached pic) I’m not sure if the forum will not allow an attachment that will be large enough for the Panel bitmap (2.25Mb) if not you will probably have to contact me using my E-Mail address from my profile, so that I can send it back as an E-Mail attachment..

At the moment I have only included the flight gauges (all the original Beaver gauges), as I have only spent an hour or two on this, anyway please feel free to contact me if this is what you are after.

Hi

As this post seems to have generated a little interest judging by the number of views, I thought that I would add a small update.

Chief seems to be more than happy with the mod, which now also includes invisible pop-ups controls for enlarged radio stack and engine instrumentation views, and if it’s OK with the forum moderators I would be more than happy to give the 2D panel mod to anybody that wishes to try it, just contact me the same way that Chief did using my contact details from my profile, and I will send it as an E-Mail attachment (the panel bitmap is to large to post on the forum).
