No Auto Read-back ATC with A340-600 Pro in MSFS 2020

Featured Replies

I am enjoying the A340-600 Pro in MSFS 2020 and performed some long-haul flights generally without issues. A problem that I have noticed however is that Auto read-back of ATC instruction (via enabling AI Pilot handles ATC in MSFS) does not work, and I am pretty sure that it is an A340 issue as performing the same flight with no changes in the sim but with a different plane the option works normally.

Especially for long-haul flights, the AI Pilot handling radio is quite helpful.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Or is there maybe some hidden option in the plane that I missed?

Thanks for any help

Actually, there is one piece of information that I have omitted in my initial post which points at some non-standard feature in the A340-600 Pro, possibly in the transponder setting.  The AI assisted readback/radio handling works just for the first radio contact (the one with the clerance and the transponder code). For this first time, the AI Pilot reads back the clerance but does not set the transponder code. After that, radio silence and I have to handle radio myself.

I have also tried to start with AI radio off, reading back clearance and setting the transponder manually and then activating the Ai-radio, but it made no difference: no read back nor radio action by the AI Pilot. Manual interaction - receiving and reading back instructions - works normally though.

All other stock and add-on planes work fine.

Very very strange.

Same issue here. I thought it was problem with the sim

Exactly the same here with updated version 1.0.1 build 1045.

This could do with fixing ASAP as loss of this functionality on long haul will detract from enjoyment...

Hi All - I had also submitted a support ticket and Aerosoft has replied that the issue is now known and it will be fixed in a future update.

So I suppose we just have to wait.

Happy flights

New version 1.0.2 since last time I flew the A340-600 and still no fix for this?!
Now you're blocking 2 MSFS built in functionalities
- Sim rate limited to max 4X (and your recommendation in another thread is, don't fly the aircraft, jump ahead to save time instead, turning this into a T/O and landing sim!!, come on!)
- ATC, auto response not working (this thread)

Pausing this product again and hope for the next release.

Just checking with Aerosoft support team: after update 1.03 the ATC readback problem is still there. Additionally, also the GSX Pro compatibility remains an issue (already reported elsewhere as of the initial release 1.0.0), i.e. after starting the engines (all 4!) and communicating to the ground crew via the GSX menu that there is a good engine start, ground crew replies "engines not started yet, I'll call you later" forcing to stop the pushback procedure via the "interrupt push back" option in the GSX menu to release pushback tug and be able to taxi.

Needless to say, the AS A340-600 is the only aircraft showing this behaviour.

Is there any forecast on if and when will these issues be dealt with?

Thanks in advance

Installed 1.0.4, no change
Tried cleaning the WASM folder, no change
They just don't giva a damn about this, do they?
Putting this AddOn to the shelf again and waits for the next release

Unfortunately this aircraft seems to have died. Big promises at the beginning. Even a freight version was promised (as far as I remember). The reality: some minor fixing happened. The last two updates acutally had a nearly similar fix-list. Main bugs and QoL problems still exist. Just a tiny example: you still can't control the CO sided panel brightness (knob is dead) - despite this being a 5 min fix. I really gave Aerosoft a second chance. Or I thought, Toliss would be a quality enforcing element in this cooperation. Nah. You should sell books, Aerosoft. "How to loose customer trust forever in 5 steps"

You know, even if you've planned to abandon the plane, short time after release. That's on you to decide. But at least you could've been honest.

Bye Bye Aerosoft and best wishes for your future. You'll need it.

Just updated to 1.0.5, unfortunately no improvement.

No Auto ATC readback, no matter what I try (including starting flight with AI radio comm assistance to "off" in MSFS Assistance Menu and then switching assistance to "on" after manually setting the transponder, as suggested by web search) and other tricks.

GSX Pro problem still present: GSX does not recognise engine started after pushback and will not allow to end the pushback via the usual option "Confirm Good Engine Start", requiring to select "stop pushback here" to be allowed to proceed.

Plus, there is a nice new glitch with GSX Pro, which now shows a beautiful red banner "aircraft not recognised" - but fortunately by ignoring the warning GSX still works.

An answer by Aerosoft whether they are still looking into the ATC issue or not would be a kind sign of caring about their customers.
