MSFS2020 performance

Featured Replies

This is a fantastic add-on, i'm very pleased with it but, unfortunately, is the heaviest one as well. It has lots of micro stutters and the performance in my machine drops between 15-25fps. Hope Aerosoft team in future releases will address this like they did with the CRJ for example.

Anyone else feeling the same?

Same here

9800x3d / rtx4090 / 32GB RAM / MSFS 2020

VR with Varjo Aero

Performance of Aerosoft A346 significantly worse than FENIX-Airbusses and even worse than FBW A380.

Heavy microstutters, especially when panning with the camera or turning the head around.

The A340-600 requires a fix regarding this.

This is a showstopper.

Yes, can confirm: Around 15 fps at the airport (with AI traffic / VATSIM) and around 25 in the air. My system is outdated, I know (i9-9900K, 64GB RAM, 2080S (FS20)), but still: Even the Ini A350 runs better, not even talking about Fenix and PMDG...

Are you flying with terrain radar? I found it causes heavy stuttering.

I have a intel i7-11700k 32GB/RX7800XT/MSFS.
Agreed with you!

Will check this and will let you know, thanks EmilvK!

Especially when using „skip to FMS-WPT“ the fps drop permanently by at least 10-15fps.

Do the developers read this forum?

Makes no difference

Something during the preflight is dropping the frames by 10-15fps.

Situation loading ( such as repositioning on approach ) does the same.

Same as „Skip to FMS-WPT“.

Strange, for me it results in a 10 fps loss and +5ms in latency.

Same here. RTX 5090 and I9 14900K and its fluid on the ground. Than after pushback the performance drops. From Descent to the final approach there is stuttering when panning i the cockpit until the final approach and than it becomes smooth again. Somethings is definitely wrong here. Its way too performance heavy.

Can confirm. Same here. Something is causing performance to drop to 20 fps. None of the other aircraft have such an impact in my PC.

I have a I7 12700K with an Rtx 3070 (Zodaq design for whose interested). I got 40FPS with AutoFps and FSR3 2x. I read on there Discord that reinstalling into the Community folder helped massively. I am really unsure about this.

FS2020 or FS2024?
On my system RTX4090 and i9-13900K I don't see any particular stutters in FS2020

Same here I have all the pmdg, ini, and fenix and they don't drop fps like this one. Something needs fixed.

In Fs 2020. Very strange

What's strange in FS2020, that it has stutter or that it doesn't?

That it does. Something causes the fps to drop after pushback. I think it could be either terrain radar or weather radar. All my other planes are very smooth. PMDG, Fenix, Flymaddog, FsLabs (though its heavier), iFly, Just flight RJ, etc...

I second the issues, my best guess would be the custom flight model? The wings flexing seem to make it worse, so when ever a bump is detected they completely overflex and it gets even more stuttery. New Record is 4 Frames per Second in flight. Funny enough, in 2024 on the same machine the performance is much better (I do not wish to use 2024 due to unstable internet at this time).

During Replay (where no calculations for the flight model are done) the frames are much better.

Seems like early iniBuilds A350 Era, where it took considerable time and fixes, but now is running smooth. I hope Aerosoft does not drop the Ball here, and improves until it is usable in 2020.

I would like to add, that this is already super bad with Terrain + Weather Radar Off. With both on, I can make a stop motion.

It would be great to have the option to deactivate the cabin, since I understand the custom flight model takes some performance, in the end I would prefer to loose the cabin and enjoy the great flight model over having a 69€ benchmark tool that I will not fly.

I am getting a ton of stutters when on the ground taxiing and turning, and in the air when banking. When flying straight or taxiing straights, no issues.

It is very strange.

Hi,

I'm flying in this moment at 8h flight and goes well but if I push the button TERRAIN ON ND I get micro sttuters.

Can you check does it also happen when WX radar is on as well, without the Terrain Radar?

I'm stuttering like crazy in the A340 with 25 fps with a 9060xt 16GB. I had terrain radar on and i turned if off defo made my experience a little bit better but i still get 30 fps or less.. I've figured out why yall are stuttering with 4060s, the the displays are the problem, when you turn on motion blur you can see the blur but you cant see the blur on the displays and it consumes performance. They might fix that soon.

Major microstutters and the wing flex looks like it is a bird flapping its wings, they really need to fix this. MSFS2020.
