Aerosoft Crew Announcements

Featured Replies

It is unfortunate that Aerosoft decided to withdraw the crew announcement regarding the serving of drinks after the aircraft is at, say, cruise level.

I understand that alcohol is prohibited on flights for good reason. However, there are many other forms of refreshment such as soft drinks, tea coffee, etc.

Can this announcement not be re-worked to say that "the crew will now be serving you with tea, coffee or cold drinks"?

I think this would enhance the Aerosoft products. After all, in the real world, passengers do not go without refreshments on flights, espescially long haul flights.

The re-worked announcement could be made available in the form of a downloadable patch.

Strongly recommended.

Hi and thank you for the welcome.

It's not a product as far as I am aware. In the Aerosoft A330 Professional Base Sound_ASC folder there are a number of wav files relating to the aircraft, its crew etc. The one I am referring to is ASC_CC_CAB_Drinks.wav, which is empty. The movie and sandwiches wav files appear to be in order, but I have never heard the crew announcing that sandwiches will be served.

Perhaps they were overlooked during the rush to get the A330 ready for customers. In any event, it would be great to have these sounds playing during a flight.

These sounds are also missing in the other Aerosoft products.

Regards.

So as Mathijs has alluded to above, this was actually a deliberate project management decision back when it got released. Also, by now it has reached the end of its life cycle, so no further changes to it will be made.

I guess what you could try is replacing the empty wav file with one of your liking and see if it is being played.

Hi Ben,

In reply to your email query asking whether my question was answered, I can say it was answered but not resolved. I replaced the empty file with one containing the sounds, but it made no difference. Aerosoft have not provided the necessary triggers to make these files work, so what must  users do when they are  simply told the product is at the end of its life cycle. Has it ever occurred to Aerosoft that not all their customers want to change from P3D to MSFS, perhaps because their machines are not powerful enough for MSFS? Also, need I remind Aerosoft that their products are not free?

I am surprised that Mathijs made the decision to remove sounds instead of leaving it to the users to choose whether they want to use them. It also appears that he has jumped ship, so there will presumably be no further help from him for P3D products.

Regards,

IQM

That decision was one of the hundreds that you make when managing a product release and update. To the best of my knowledge, you are the only person who has ever had an issue with that specific decision. Next to the fact that all P3D development has been completely halted many years ago (5 years) I think you will just have to come to terms with that fact.

Also, I am sorry that you do not like the answers that Mathijs and I have tried to provide, but at least your question has been fully answered.
