Bravo Quadrant - Issue with the Increase/Decrease Rotary Dial

Featured Replies

Hi folks!

I've just set up my new Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo for MSFS24, but I'm experiencing issues with the Increase/Decrease rotary dial on the Autopilot controls section at the top of the unit (corresponding to buttons 13 and 14). Suffice to say, it doesn't work very well at all. I'm wondering if my experience with it is similar to what you're all experiencing, or if my rotary controller is potentially malfunctioning.

Another post on Reddit suggests that it works better at slower rotations, but that isn't my experience. If you can view my attached video, you'll notice it fails to receive input within rotations ~1/2 second between each other.

Is this a normal expectation for the Bravo Quadrant, or do you think mine might be defective?

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you please confirm that you don't have the 30 pulses per revolution as in the tutorial below ?
What is you Windows version ?

Thank you for the link! I am definitely not getting 30 pulses. I ran 10 tests, 5 in each direction, with ~1/2 second between intervals. On average, Button 13 sent 9.4 pulses and Button 14 sent 10.4 pulses per full rotation.

I am on Windows 11 (v.23H2), but I am pretty sure that my Rotary Dial is defective. It's not usable for precise selections, at least.

I couldn't find many support threads on this issue, so it may not be that common of a problem. If you have any ideas, let me know; otherwise, I'll create a support ticket through Honeycomb and see what my options are.

Thank you!

Where are you located and where did you buy this unit from, please ?

Thank you.

I'm in the United States and ordered from Amazon. Thankfully, it was within 30 days since my purchase so I was able to return with a full refund. No question's asked. I only hope that the unit will be serviced and resold, because everything else worked well. Or at least, as well as it was designed to work.

Thank you for your involvement!
