Svalbard XP12 TUG

Featured Replies

Hi,
I had Svalbard XP version 11, and some time ago I bought XP12 version
One problem is, as far as I can see, still present, already described some time ago in:

I'm curious, is there any chance that we could have tractor on Svalbard and a default TUG in other sceneries?
I have participated in the project "LYBI Željava" where we encountered a similar problem, but my colleague was able to make the tractor to be "operational" just on that airfield and not to interfere with other sceneries.
I see that many sceneries have dedicated ground services eg. Fuel Trucks, and they do not interfere with others.
For now I have removed traktor in the way that was/is mentioned in archived, above mentioned post, but I would like to have it on Svalbard.

By my experience this is possible in XP12 (but not XP11) using library regions so these custom vehicles don't show up everywhere in the world.

@maps2xplaneMatthias, you might want to have a look at this? I was able to export airport vehicles regionally using the library method in some projects, this should work here too. Another solution is not to override these vehicles by library functionality but use the WED functionality instead (there is a field for custom vehicle objects available for airport vehicles, I'm not sure if this is XP11 compatible but it's the 'recommended' method to use in XP12).

First of all, the update of the XP11 version of Svalbard XP to XP12 should be free for those who already purchased the XP11 version. If you had to pay again for the XP12 version of Svalbard XP, please contact your seller to check why you were not entitled to the free update.

Since Laminar Research allowed us developers to "regionalize" such XP default objects and vehicles, we've been doing that! This means you should only see the Svalbard XP-tractor on Svalbard, and it shouldn't affect any other airport scenery. If this isn't the case for you, please first check whether you have the latest version of Svalbard XP, i.e. v1.2, installed.

Thanks for the quick response. I have 1.2 Svalbard installed, but when I try to open some other airport or add TUG to some airport, only Svalbard Traktor is the choice; at other airports the same problem persist

Yes, I got free update with no problem since I bought it from this site

Great, that's how it should be 🙂

Not so great, it shouldn't be like that 😞

Just to be sure, you're running XP12, not XP11? I tested it with XP12.2.1-r1, and it's working for me as it should: The Svalbard XP-tractor only appears on Svalbard, see also attached screenshots.

Are you sure the tractor you see is actually from the Svalbard XP-scenery? To check this, please disable Svalbard XP in your scenery_packs.ini temporarily – replace SCENERY_PACK with SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED, as follows:

SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENAS/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENBA/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENPY/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENSA/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENSB/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - MESH/
SCENERY_PACK_DISABLED Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - XTRA/

Do you still see a tractor at other airports? If so, then it's not from Svalbard XP!

Yes, I'm running XP12.2.1-r1

Quite sure, because when I disable Svalbard4XPlane with X-Organizer, the tractor is gone from other airports
Like I have mentioned before, when I tried to add Pushback in WED on some random airport, the only type I can add is Svalbard Tractor
For now I have made copy of ENSB library.txt and removed Line:
EXPORT    lib/airport/vehicles/pushback/tug.obj                                    objects/vehicles/Equipment_Tug.obj

That's really strange, and I cannot reproduce this, as you can see on the screenshots in my previous post. We've also not received any reports of pushback truck-issues related to Svalbard XP since XP12. Please send me – via a personal message – your X-Plane 12/Log.txt as well as the Custom Scenery/Svalbard4XPlane - ENSB/library.txt. Thanks!

OK, kind of I have pinpointed the problem.
First screenshot is from running X-Plane in BGGH, no Tractor
The second screenshot is from WED in ETAR, trying to add pushback on the apron, and it appears to be Svalbard Tractor.
I have returned line : EXPORT    lib/airport/vehicles/pushback/tug.obj                                    objects/vehicles/Equipment_Tug.obj
in library.txt, and if I save it like that, it would show tractor Equipment_Tug.obj, which refers to
TEXTURE ENSB_auto02.png
TEXTURE_LIT ENSB_auto02_LIT.png

All Right, now the only problem that remains is that when I'm gonna make an airport, I will disable Svalbard

Alright, to summarize: Everything's fine in the sim, but WED is displaying the wrong library element!? If I understand correctly, it seems that WED isn't correctly evaluating the custom REGIONs, especially the REGION_RECT, in library.txt files. It might be an idea to report this to LR, because we add-on developers cannot influence this behavior.

I think you can save and export it like this in WED. Since it's a library path, everything should still look correct in the sim, i.e. the default pushback truck should be displayed instead of the tractor. As far as I understand it, it's really just a display issue in WED.

@maps2xplane, thanks for your support. The problem is in WED
Usually, I am making or "refurbishing" airports in separate vanilla XP12, I should stick to that practice in the past few weeks...not be so lazy
Thanks again for your patience. Problem solved, Trouble Ticket can be closed :)
One more thing, Off Topic but not to start another topic
I have bought this spring Bergen XP
First time I was able to download it with the Direct Link
Today, when I was downloading Svalbard again, I saw that Bergen XP is available only for download via Aerosoft One, but in my application, there is no Bergen XP, all the other stuff that I bought is there
Did anybody have a similar issue?

Bergen XP is not an M2XP product... Anyways, if you bought Bergen XP before it was ported to Aerosoft One, and now don't have access to the scenery pack in Aerosoft One, I'd suggest to you to directly contact the Aerosoft Customer Service team, only they can help you in this case. Thanks!
