See if you can generate a flight plan from KBOS to KMCO that stays over the ocean as long as possible and gets no closer to land than 20nm abeam.

It must cost money to run the servers and maintain the software. If no separate charge is made that suggests it’s subsidised.

Ray, normally, you do not consider paying the cost of part of your business as sponsoring. Aerosoft does not sponsor their support service; they simply pay for it. You still seem to see simBrief as a separate entity. It's not. 

 

If you insist on calling the part of the expense of running a business sponsorship, so be it. Who am I to decide what a word means.

Your initial question was about avoiding Russian airspace on a Tokyo to Heathrow flight. Now you've changed the parameters altogether. In any event, if you look at the chart on the right side bar, you can set it to display airways. If you scroll down, you can go to the route calculator to select which airspace and airways to avoid and which airways and tracks to include. So you could add WILYY M203 HOBEE, and you'd get a flight plan of the following:

 

PATSS7 PATSS FOXWD Q439 RIFLE Q167 SPDEY Y487 DOGRS Y483 DUMPR Y488 HOBOH Y485 SAUCR L453 LSIER M203 WILYY M203 HOBEE AR6 HIBAC ALYNA4

 

This meets your parameters of being stays over the ocean as long as possible. Keep in mind that SURFR on the ALYNA4 arrival is about 10-15 miles from land, and after you cross ALYNA, you still have at least 27 miles to go, depending on if you land north or south.

@Captain Kevin, that’s far more work than me adding waypoints manually. Concorde wasn’t obliged to stick to jet routes outside SIDs and STARs as it flew in airspace no other aircraft would occupy.

I just love this software so much.

I just unregistered TOPCAT on my old PC to get it installed on my new one, and now I'm stuck in limbo. That's what you get, I guess, for following rules and trying to do everything the correct way.

It is very unfortunate that the developers couldn't bother to release TOPCAT as freeware out of respect for all their old customers

@Igor Cunha , a few months ago I changed the SSD on a computer to a larger one. PFPX detected the change and prompted me to enter my product key.

Fortunately I had kept it. I’m surprised the same process doesn’t apply to TopCat. Did you keep your product key?

It likely depends upon whether it is a 10 or 15 character key, the latter requiring server activation, different server to PFPX, which would appear to be unavailable.

Just checked both PFPX and TopCat and both keys are 15 character. 3 blocks of five characters separated by a hyphen.

I successfully reactivated my PFPX license late March / early April. TopCat was happy with a new SSD.

HI there @Ray Proudfoot ,

I transferred my PFPX to the new PC without any issues yesterday. It checked the key online on their server, and everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, it failed for TOPCAT; as Steven mentioned, it's probably kept on a different server

I might reconnect my old PC, but I'm very positive that before I disconnected, I unlinked the key from that PC so I could install it on the new one. If by any chance it is still active there, I'm going to follow your advice to try to just copy the folders to the new PC and hope for the best
