Köln-Bonn background scenery does not blend into existing P3D v5 scenery - awful brown color

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have just installed the latest update of Köln-Bonn (v. 1.1.1.0) into P3Dv5 and the general color of the scenery (grass areas) is a very burnt brown color instead of being green.

Which setting in the Config Tool controls the color setting of the scenery background?

I have FTX EU Southern Germany installed.

I have tried the FTX & Resolution setting in the Config tool both "Default/Medium" and also "FTX/Medium", but there's no change in the dark brown color which looks completely obnoxious in comparison to the surrounding green vegetation and trees.

Does anyone have some thoughts about how to restore the color back to green?

Hm.

To speak without speed brake (dt.: Luftbremse/Bremsklappen), after almost 15 years, and I am here since the year of the lord

2010,

I quite perfectly know the priorities here in this house.

1. Paderborn

2. Rhein/Main (correct me, but I know that I'm not completely wrong here)

3. EDDK

4. EDDH (?), and I at least am able to appreciate this one (no one at Lohausen is seriously interested in EDDK...)

5. All other airports that you could imagine, worldwide.

6. My home airport (EDDL Lohausen Intl), but that's a completely different topic.

Here we talk about this one, don't we:

https://www.aerosoft.com/de/shop/flight/p3d-fsx/prepar3d/szenerien/p3d-europa/2487/koeln/bonn-professional?number=AS14312

Tagespreis 27,95 Euro diesen Freitag.

And even with the prices, aerosoft tries to make politics. For your p3dv5, EDDK is 28,- Euros. The same is valid for me (p3dv4.5),

IF I were interested in that so to speak relatively boring Domstadt Flughafen...

And now let's have a look at something completely different:

https://www.aerosoft.com/de/shop/flight/microsoft-flight-simulator/msfs-2020/msfs-szenerien/msfs-europa/3237/aerosoft-airport-koeln/bonn

Tagespreis 17,95 Euro diesen Freitag.

So. For the both of us there is only one thing good in this story. If there were somebody who could convince us to buy msfs 2020,

THEN we'd buy EDDK msfs 2020 cheaper than for the simulator which of we are completely convinced.

PS: To make a long story short (if we are able to shorten more or less 15 years...),

and you are sure that what you see are not the very normal p3d colors for autumn (October)?

A screenshot would be helpful. And btw, I also use p3d in combination with orbx global landclasses, orbx vector p3dv4,

and I own

orbx GEN (the Northern part): Brilon, Meschede, Schmallenberg, Winterberg, Kassel, Kiel, Lüneburg, Lübeck, Leipzig, Husum, Grunewald (Berlin), Köhlbrand (Hamburg), Stralsund und alles nördlich davon.

and

orbx GES (the Southern part):

Meinerzhagen, Hangelar, Attendorn, Olpe, Wipperfürth, Dahlemer Binz, Mönchsheide, Neustadt (Wied), Bebra, Erfurt, Montabaur, Limburg, Eisenach, Jena, Suhl, Oberhof, Spessart, Bad Dürkheim, Saarbrücken, Vaihingen/Enz und alles südlich davon.
Info 1: Der Hubschrauberlandeplatz Hückeswagen wurde 2017 (oder davor) permanent geschlossen.

So, let's talk about an orbx GES airfield (which one?), and I'll be there with my p3d to see what you see.

Greetings from EDDL Lohausen International (my home airport since 1978).

If that combination makes me unique for the rest of my life here on this platform, then I'll live with it.

PS: How many people are still alive who still insist and who still know how this happened... 15 years ago.

?

Liga.

No further comment!

Back on topic.

You've not been here again since October. So, I've given you a few answers and ideas. I'd say, pls come back and let's compare

your p3dv5 (orbx) to my p3dv4.5 (orbx).

PS: You are one of the rare men who after 15 years still is longer here than me. ... (!). Do you remember what Shaun Fletcher once was good and famous for? Right, the famous aerosoft Christmas Screenshot Competition!

Man, the good old times...

Hm. Today I'm still not sure if aerosoft is able to clear flights from EDDL or from EDDK,

although deep in the system, they still hate me after almost 15 years.

Btw, this is my home airport by night, somewhere on the East apron, viewed through p3dv4.5 and Orbx GEN (the Northern part). Refined with a

cute Beech B200, the coffee knob and the tailfin light knob included, taxi light on, cabin light off:

PS: That doesn't seem like much, but at least minimal enlightened buildings on the Lohausen East apron imho are more than what you get

when you tried to buy EDDL for p3dv4 (?!).

As I said, this is only Orbx GEN, with a little help from a Beech B200 .

And now your EDDK?

Oh yes long lost good times. Me had 20 years in this forums this year :D So there are still some dinosaurs around here.

EDDL my hub also btw. So greetings from D'dorf to D'dorf! (even though I'm closer to EDLN)

Cheers

Mr O.Pabst has not been here since the year 2023?

All the good men who once were fighting for the Mega Airport EDDL for fsx (and p3dv1) seem to have left the aerosoft ship...

And that includes Mr Mathijs Kok, who now works for somebody completely different...

A sad story in my eyes... I still know one of the reasons why it took so long to even have a good (!) EDDL version for fsx:

Somebody thought, that an aerosoft EDDL version, with an aerosoft price tag ("27.95"), wouldn't sell one item.

That's wrong. Because I have bought EDDL for fsx by aerosoft.

Hm. How do we get back on topic now.

Ahm. So what would you say, Do we need a new, good (!)  aerosoft EDDL version,

for p3dv4.5

and for msfs 2020?

If you ask me, yes of course, EDDL deserves a good (!) p3dv4.5 version. The justsim EDDL version for p3dv4.5 is old, published July 2020,

too old for somebody like me who visits OUR home airport at least 2 or 3 times a month.

And I'm sure that you n me know why the justsim version will never get more than "1 star" '(?). It is old, it doesn't depict EDDL Intl of today!

PS: Now, the both of us have one problem. aerosoft Köln/Bonn for p3dv4.5 was published October 2024 .

Without one review until today (simmarket). But that's not my fault, I simply don't own it.

So it is not very likely that aerosoft Düsseldorf for p3dv4.5 will be published soon. Although I assume that you could be interested in it,

and although I know I would buy it!

Very dear greetings from Lohausen Intl to Lohausen Intl .
