Ecosystem for GA in MSFS 2020

Featured Replies

I only used to fly real airplanes privately GA planes in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. I used to be in the USA about 4 times per year and a good frien partially owned a Bonanza 35B while I made my instruction to fly multiengine planes on the Cessna 310. Now i am retired, my economic resource does not allow me to fly real planes anymore. Also my health has deteriorated, another reason why I cannot fly real airplanes anymore.

About 1 to 2 years ago a good friend of mine, now also retired and living in Hawaii. He helped me to setup A PC and the peripherals needed to fly with MSFS 2020. It is amazing that he is in Hawaii and myself in Germany. We can see each other's plane while flying in MSFS and this on the other side of the planet.

I am putting a lot of efforts into making flying in MSFS as close as possible to the real. What makes me sad is that the developments focus on airliners. What I enjoyed when flying real GA airplanes was navigating in a cockpit with only analog instruments and controlling the plane myself, no autopilot. But it seems that GA airplanes are a minority in the offerings. Or am I wrong but not yet found a place where this kind of flying in GA airplanes is the focus. The physics of a plane are key to have a flight simulator offer an experience close to the one to fly GA airplanes 25 years ago.

Hellmut
