I’m giving serious consideration to buying the PMDG777 for P3Dv5.3. It’s only available from Aerosoft as PMDG have arbitrarily withdrawn it from sale. Mathijs Kok has answered my questions about future availability with the stock reply … “The products are removed from sale at this moment”.

”at this moment” suggests they will become available again. But I’m curious why Aerosoft still makes it available. I presume PMDG hasn’t instructed you to remove their products or you would already have done so.

Do you plan on making the 777 plus the Expansion Pack available for the foreseeable future?

Lol, not 'arbitrarily', Ray. It was a simple business decision you did not agree with. We have not yet asked Aerosoft to remove them from sale, mainly because there have been no sales and we more or less forgot it was for sale.

If you want to buy it, I seriously suggest you do so urgently.

PMDG

You concerned me sufficiently to buy it plus the Expansion Pack. Many developers have reduced the price of their P3D products to make them more attractive. Sadly not Aerosoft where I’ve paid almost double for the 777 as I did for FS Labs Concorde.

Let’s hope I get many years of enjoyment out of it.

After mentioning the probability the PMDG will soon be removed from here over at AvSim a couple of people expressed the desire to purchase before the shop finally closes its doors. Perhaps Aerosoft could hold fire for a while.

On hearing this terrible news myself in order to secure the best planes for the (to date) best flight sim available I spent over 600 USD on P3d v5 pro version and the PMDG 777 and 747 series. I was about to also purchase the 737 base and expansion pack on here but realised in the nick of time they were the OLD versions NOT the 'u' versions that would work in P3d v5.

Before PMDG set sail and abandon those of us on our treasure island for the promised land of big $$$ and Asobe corporate compliance it would be kind if they could leave behind some supplies for us loyal, obsolete and legacy customers to survive on. Or at least give us fair warning of their departure instead of sneaking off in the night.

Ray, go for it man!  it will only be a matter of time before it disappears off the internet just like all of their old FSX aircraft.  I think if you don't end up buying it and when it disappears, you will regret it for the rest of your life.  I own the FSX version and I absolutely love that airplane so I'm sure the newer P3D version is amazing too.

It is sad that the developers have seem to have "forgotten" us now that they made loads of money off us FSX and P3D users over the years, but it is still an amazing airplane, I'm sure.  I still fly the FSX version because I enjoy it so much.  They are very lucky they have such loyal customers because they sure don't seem care about us.  I am thinking of buying the P3D version too before it's too late despite that I am upset about what they did and I don't like them anymore.  As someone who has tried all simulators out there, the PMDG 777 is honestly the best simulation of a Boeing 777 there is.

The only other option is the one by Captain Sim and the one by X-Plane 11//12 developers Flight Factor.  While they do have most systems modeled and look really nice, the aircraft performance is not even close to the real thing.  They both fly terribly unrealistically.  I have no doubt that the P3D PMDG 777 flies by the numbers no doubt (or very close to it), that is even more important to me than the systems imo.  I think you won't be disappointed in the plane, that is for sure.

@Kalnon, I bought it and the 300ER expansion pack the day after that post. If it’s still available then Aerosoft have got more sense than PMDG.

Flew Manchester to Singapore last week. Great performance and no streaming problems! 😁

Nice, I certainly don't regret my $600 splurge. Worth every cent to be setup pretty much for life offline :D
