Dortmund 2024 MSFS - my presentation of a new project

Featured Replies

Are you still planning on doing a native 2024 version with 2024 features or has that changed? Thanks.

The Dortmund Airport project is currently in the release candidate stage. This version will be fully compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 on a backwards compatibility basis. These screenshots

Yes, I have plans to create a native version exclusively with SDK 2024. I want to implement this after the release of the SIM 2 update for MSFS 24. As far as I know, the release of this update is scheduled for the summer of this year and it will contain significant changes to the SDK and in particular to the LODs.
For now, Dortmund will be released as a version for both simulators on the principle of backward compatibility in 2024.

Yes, it is logical if I present the project on the Aerosoft platform :) All my previous projects are also related to Aerosoft.
Of course, soon the project will be available on the platforms that are Aerosoft partners.

But first, let's wait for the release.

That's good to hear, will the 2024 native version be a free upgrade if you buy the version for both sims or will it require a separate purchase?

Oh, let's talk about the pricing of the 2024 native version when it's done. Believe me, it's too early to talk about it, the release of MSFS 2020 is currently being prepared, which will be backwards compatible with MSFS 2024.
Everything else will come later. But I'm sure that users will not be offended :)

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 so would you tell us a planned date for the MSFS2020 release ? 😉

just can’t wait … so sorry for those questions…

There's nothing wrong with asking, it's normal.

I don't have an exact release date yet. But it's possible that there will be a release by the end of this week.

The terrain around the  GAT-Area looks dramatically wrong unfortunately...

Thanks Tang for the comment, but Asobo is responsible for the area around the airport, I only did the airport. When updating, I intend to make changes.
In the meantime
Although, I would have chosen a better presentation screenshot than the guys in Aerosoft marketing. Well, at least they did it, thank them and Welcome to Dortmund

Hello.

Regarding Jetways. Yes, I was told today that Jetways will be dismantled in two weeks. I will definitely take this into account when updating. Believe me, removing Jetways is not difficult, it was more difficult to build them.

But, to be honest, I felt sad, because I like the airport with Jetways better. I also want to find out from official sources whether they are going to reconstruct Jetways or install new ones.

In any of these cases, the project will correspond to a real airport, as in life.

I'd appreciate an update, thank you. In this press release, the airport explained the jetways will be permanently removed, in case you have not found this yet.

Thanks for the document! It turns out that the issue with Jetways has been resolved at the official level.

I propose such an update format, which I will do within one to two months. Why is that? I want to add some houses to the project that are located across the road from the city side. In this way, I will remove those ugly houses that are pulling up Asobo. For this, I need this time.
In particular, I will remove Jetways 3-4 and arrange parking spaces as they will look for this period of time.

I think this will be a practical and good update.

Hi Pavel.

The airport looks really good, you did a great job. It's a modern and up-to-date version of Dortmund Airport 21.

I'm glad you published it so unexpectedly. I'd like to say a huge thank you! 🙂

Hi Pavel.

Beautiful airport but I have an installation problem: there is an elevation problem at the platform - see photo.

What is wrong? I have no other EDLW installed in Community Folder.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter.

Please check in the add-on manager in the simulator whether you have all the official add-ons for Asobo World for Europe and Germany in particular. I am sure that if any of these add-ons are not installed, then this will be 99 percent of the time causing the altitude problems you are experiencing. First of all, check if you have World Update 6 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland installed.

Pay attention to these updates:
World Update 6 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland
World Update 18 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland
City Update I - Germany
City Update IV - Western Europe
City Update VI - Southwest Germany
City Update VII - European Cities

One of these updates may affect the height in Dortmund. I was guided by all the Asobo add-ons for Europe and they were the basic basis for me to work on Dortmund.

Second, look in the Community folder to see if you have any add-ons from other developers that relate to Dortmund. If there are, there may also be a conflict between the add-ons.

Follow the link for the entire list of updates to the world from Asobo.

Also, Peter, I noticed that you have the planes in parking lots 5-12 incorrectly positioned. By default, the project requires the planes to be in these parking lots with their tails facing the terminal, but for some reason you have them facing the terminal. There are also Jetways running from the terminal, which I did not do.

This does not indicate a problem with the height, but that you have some kind of application that affects Dortmund and conflicts with it and ultimately affects the height.

Yes, Peter, be sure to tell me your results.

From your avatar, I see that you are probably related to aviation, or really like aviation, and I will be happy to help you figure out your problem.
This is a subjective opinion, but from your screenshot, I see that you have a mess in your simulator and I, if possible, can help you deal with this mess.

Hi Pavel,

I did follow your advice: the jetways are gone and planes are facing correct direction. However, the elevation problem is still there. Is thyere a speciof file that sets the elevation? (and I can check for iot? ).

Or should I reinstall the world or city updates for Germanby?

Thanks.
