I started the Dortmund EDLW airport project last year. But he did not announce it. Wanted to do some work. Also, I wanted to alpha test the project, hear feedback from testers and move on.
So, my new project for MSFS is Dortmund Airport.
There is a free Dortmund project for MSFS that Christian did. It's a great project, but it's a bit out of date. Regarding compatibility. The airport will not be directly compatible. It is clear. But, I will not make a city. Therefore, the city of Dortmund that Christian made will be compatible with my project.
There is also a paid project of the airport Dortmund from the developer ARIMA. It is also a good project, but in my opinion, it has certain shortcomings and the author of the project did not fully reveal the potential of the airport and the capabilities of the MSFS.
Dortmund is one of my favorite airports and therefore, based on the above, I decided to create Dortmund Airport.
To date, most of the work has been done. A completely new terminal with an interior, animated people. For the project I made a jetway that corresponds to reality. The terrain of the airport also corresponds to the real one. Aircraft on parking lots 5-12 will be located tail to the terminal.
With Aerosoft Pushback Pro, you will be able to properly push the plane into the parking lot and push the plane out.
Profiles for GSX and Aerosoft will be made for VDGS.
I make a system of LODs for all 3D objects without exception.
Regarding the terms. Work on the project continues. I live in a country where there is a war and it is quite difficult to say anything in advance. Depression, nervous breakdowns, other reasons can affect the time of completion of work. But first, I expect to finish work on the project in the second half of the summer.
So, you can look at the screenshots of the project.

But that looks very good. And so surprisingly, I'm looking forward to it! 🙂

Thank you Christian!

If you don't mind, closer to beta testing I'll send you my project for you to look at as well. Perhaps you will have suggestions or comments on what I should fix or what I should pay attention to.

Thank you again!

A few screenshots of the development of the Dortmund airport project.
I fixed the previous flaws that were identified by users, in particular, it concerns the inscription on the central part of the terminal. A few screenshots of the development of the Dortmund airport project.
Small 3D objects in the form of trees, airfield equipment, etc., of course, will be in the project.

After a fairly long break, I'm back to working on projects. Dortmund has undergone many positive changes. I plan to complete the project by the end of the year. Of course, Bratislava and Brno will undergo changes over time. Minor changes are also planned for the helipad project.
Somehow ;)

Thanks Christian. I also like Dortmund.
According to all plans, I should have completed work on the project already. But 2024 is the most difficult year for me, probably more difficult than 2022. Sometimes it is difficult to concentrate on work and so on.
But the work on the project continues and I hope that by the end of the year I will finish the work on the project and be able to release Dortmund at the beginning of the year, as early as 2025, maybe in January.

A question about this picture. There are vehicles that have the Dortmund Airport logo on them. Are these vehicles (presumably simobjects) controlled by GSX Pro or is this a scene you put together with static vehicles?

Yes, Christian, in this screenshot, the GSX model.
Tsu is clear, she maintains the plane.
But I also made a lot of my static models, you can see them in the screenshots. Among them, there are two types of ladders that are in Dortmund. Two types of fuel car, two fire engines, as well as static passenger cars that are in the scenery were made specifically for the project. Also, a city bus is already made, I have not yet exported it to the project, a lighter version of this bus will be animated. Also, many small 3D things, such as fences, I made for the project. I made all static 3D additions based on photos, so they correspond to the vehicles that are at the airport.
Regarding animated people. I used most of the people from the Anima app. I have a licensed professional version of this program, so there are no problems with the models. LODs are prescribed for each of the models, so as not to load scenery.

This aspect of the work is done that way.

Further work continues :)

Hello everyone.
With the release of MSFS 2024, I checked my projects in detail in MSFS 2024 yesterday. I will say frankly that there are a lot of inconsistencies and problems even if you optimize the projects in the developer mode of the new simulator. MSFS 2024 uses a gftl object file, which is different from the gftl file in MSFS 2020. At the same time, old additions will work in MSFS 2024, but poorly. There are also quite a few other nuances.

So, I decided not to optimize my old projects for MSFS 2024. My projects of Bratislava, Brno, helipads in Bratislava will remain officially only in MSFS 2020.

As for Dortmund, I will finish it for MSFS 2020. In MSFS 2024 I will create a new project exclusively for MSFS 2024. These will be two different projects and will be sold separately from each other. I will determine the pricing policy later, when the project is ready.
The new airports of Brno and Bratislava for MSFS 2024 will also be made exclusively for MSFS 2024. For users who purchased Brno and

Bratislava for MSFS 2020, there will be loyal prices

So this is how I will plan my work.
Thank you!

Hello Pavel,

thanks for your infos. What do you think: a release of Dortmund, will it happens this year yet?

Hello!

No, Dortmund will not be released this year, but I will finish the project by the end of the year.
In January, I will give Dortmund for official testing, I will try to do it right after the New Year holidays. I think the testing will not last long, because during the entire time that I am working on the project, several people have been testing the project at my request. So, by the end of January, I hope the project will be released.

Good Morning! First of all, thank you very much for your effort to create our favourite Airport Dortmund!

I wanted to ask, if there are some new Changelogs or News in general about the Testing, Release of Dortmund and the Pricing Idea.

Thank you very much, have a great Day!

Greetings!
Leon

Hello!

Thanks. Actually I'm already finishing work on Dortmund for MSFS 2020. In a week, maybe two I'll show you new screenshots.
Regarding pricing. I think it's worth talking about a little later. But I'm sure the price won't bite :)

In fact, there are only a few days left until the completion of the Dortmund airport project.
One of the airport complexes that I think some of you will recognize :)
I will keep you updated.

The Dortmund Airport project is currently in the release candidate stage. This version will be fully compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 on a backwards compatibility basis. These screenshots were taken in MSFS 2024. I will let you know the release details when everything is ready.
