Antarctica 1 - Flight plans?

Featured Replies

Purchased Antarctica 1 and am having problems with the flight plans there are identified in the manual, are there any flight plans, there is something around a .KMZ file but I am a little confused, so any help greatly appreciated

Ok in the manual it talks about google maps  .kmz files, also in the manual it talks about flight plans, where are the flight plans is essentially what I am looking for, this is the quote from the manual....."Please note that the Flightplan files supplied with “Antarctica Vol. 1 - British Rothera and Beyond” (see Google Earth™ KMZ file in the installation folder) do not exactly match the flights described here as the flight route can vary slightly from year to year. It’s up to you which flight routing you choose."

For a MSFS format flight plan you need to set up each leg manually as a flightplan in MSFS - the KMZ file is provided as a reference for that.

For release I tried to set up a flightplan file in MSFS format but eventually figured it causes a CTD crash once the flightplan refers to a navaid that has changed since the flightplan has been set up. Not a good thing with a cloud based simulator and a massively complex route where navaids may constantly change.

Hey Sasa,

I've noticed that you've been around the forum for 20 years and seem to have a lot of experience. I'm currently playing MSFS on my PC and loving it, but I'm looking to try something new and add some variety to my sim experience.

Recently, I've been using a dofreality motion platform, which has been fantastic, and now I'm considering getting something similar. We were just discussing this recently (

Have you tried any other flight simulators or motion setups that you would recommend? I'd really appreciate your insights.
