A330 Professional running on Win 10.

 

I purchased this Windows machine exclusively to run Aerosoft A330 Pro application under P3D V 5. It does not get used for anything else.

 

Aerosoft application is constantly crashing with Event Viewer Log indicating XAudio2_4.dll unloaded. This has happened previously and when I checked the Sound settings on P3D it was unchecked, although audio was working. It is now checked, but I have tried turning it off and had the same crash.

 

The application is rendered useless and unusable. Would be grateful for assistance

Additionally I suggest to upgrade to Windows 11. There is simply no reason not to do so.

This computer is 18 months to 2 years old, specifically purchased to run ONLY these 2 apps, yet Windows is advising that the computer doesn't met "minimum specifications" to run Windows 11.   I haven't used Windows machines for years now, but looking at the so called "Health Check" apparently I can flash the machine's BIOS etc etc etc. I can't see why I would need to completely install an entire operating system, complete with BIOS as a required solution for a problem such as this. This is used as a study tool, and I honestly don't have the time to be rebuilding a Windows machine at the moment as it defeats the whole point of using this app to assist professionally.

 

Thanks for the link, I think the logic they used in that thread was very good and I suspect it's scenario specific. One such scenario may possibly be when the aircraft was loaded (from MCDU Aircraft state to be in Turnaround). I have an other scenario loaded now, that I think was also running all yesterday, where it was just sitting on the end of the runway without any issues. Perhaps the FO "talks" or does something that makes a noise and calls on that file???? No idea how this all works.

A two years old hardware not being able to run Windows 11 ????

Even on my 4 1/2 year old notebook I run Win11 without any problems. Maybe you got scammed?

The Microsoft Health Check confirms the computer is 2 years old (I believe that's rounded up and it's slightly less), it has 16 GB of RAM and a 1000 GB SSD and it does NOT support Windows 11 without enabling some cryptographic TPM 2.0 system, with an explanation specifically stating, "Most retail PC motherboards ship with TPM turned off by default". The computer was purchased from the largest computer specialist in the Southern Hemisphere who are highly respected, have a massive warehouse I went to personally, and ship tonnes of computer gear daily.

 

Back on topic, I was using the Apps for several hours, not flying, but on the ground revising procedures. In that time P3D didn't crash. I then re-loaded another scenario, the one I was working from when I posted the question, and it crashed after 5-10 mins. Exactly the same as the problem the linked problem from user MattSimsA330. I believe the problem is something related to the scenarios. In this case they were both at the same airport. However they may have originated from different parent scenarios. ie I will move the simulator around to different positions depending on what I need to practice/revise and then save them as new scenarios. That way when this crashes I have something saved instead of starting from the beginning each time. Maybe something has become corrupted in that process and is why some scenarios crash while others seem to work ok??? 

When you search with Google, the error you see happens quite often for different reasons. In the topic I linked, a afresh install of P3D solved the issue.

What do you mean with "scenario". In the other post nothing was being mentioned regarding scenarios.

As I do not have P3Dv5, I cant help any further. Maybe you should contact Aerosoft support directly.

When P3P boots there are options to load previously saved "scenarios". 

 

Aerosoft say support will be given by posting on this forum. I tried the suggestion sfc/scannow and it says it fixed corrupted files. However don't yet know if it helped. Today I will load different scenarios and delete the ones that are crashing
