Hartmann insists – in several appearances – that it is not. It is MSFS and what will come in summer (which by the way will end soon) (...)

Problem is, this is the THIRD summer now since we were told that. LOL

But back then, i really believed it. Over 2 years later, im just hoping that we will get it, somewhen….

Sept 22 is the end of summer, I would be very surprised if it is coming before that. I know Hans insists it will be before MSFS2024, that releases on Nov 19. Lets see if it happens, but at this point I am not expecting anything.

In any case, I always believed in a "Remasterized" CRJ for FS24 at first, but Hartmann insists that I did not. What we do know is that several developers after the FS24 appears will be dedicated to designing addons (including aircrafts) for the latter and not for 2020. The drive to create aircrafts (and upgrade them) will slow down. It is a matter of logic, marketing and interest of the creators of MSFS. In short, any update of CRJ is expected, but it will lose importance due to the change that many of us will make to FS24 in the short, medium and long term according to the interest of each person and the development of the sim that will soon be born, unless that update means that the CRJ will fly in MS24, which has been denied so far by its developer

It will definitely fly in FS24, based on what MS/ASOBO showed us at the expo. But if it doesnt get a FS24 specific update that makes use of all the new features of FS24, it just wont have them. But ofc. theres always a possibility that some things might get broken if used in FS24 without a "native" update, but generally, it will fly, thats pretty much confirmed.

But as long as the devs havent got their hands on a FS24 SDK, they just cant promise anything, its in the dark in terms of the limitations that FS20 planes will have in the new sim.

that is, should we then wait for a second update to the "one that is to come"?

I've been a quiet reader for a long time waiting for an update to a product that in my opinion has a lot of good potential. I'd like to thanks the aerosoft team for the great support given during these years with punctual and exaustive updates. For my personal point of view this was the last drop, I'm still very surprised that such a big and respected publisher like aerosoft allowed this embarrassing situation, i used the word embarrassing just to be polite.

Best rgds

It is very unfortunate that after so much time no one is supporting this product, there are many professionals in this forum who have contributed to improve the product, changes that may not involve a great development effort.

The SID and STAR where there are course changes greater than 90 degrees the aircraft is lost, and these failures are not improvements, they are of the original product itself.

Digital Aviation has developed a very good product, but we all know that the aircraft is not finished and must continue if you want to win our commitment.

In my virtual airline there are more than 50 people that I cannot recommend this product for this reason.

There are no more excuses, the abandonment of the project is evident.

Im still waiting and hoping, i really want this product to be up to date again, i want to use, i like it. But its hard right now.
I still think Hans will hold up his promise and that he indeed is working on it, and the other involved parties.

But we all know now, that with the ATR and the other developments he is involved in the upcoming FS24, he is probably deep into working his ass off every day, and the CRJ just isnt the top priority, or is waiting for other parties to finish their job.

Hans, if you read it, i dont ask for a timeline, i dont want an estimate, but would you just be able to share more deeply about the plans and whats going on? I think this might calm down the peoples a bit :)

I have them too. But the problem is time. As it goes by, new add-ons and new improvements to the sim are emerging (In fact, before the "long-awaited update" the date of the new sim was announced). In the end, something very similar happened with George R. R. Martin's books: they were all magnificent and many of us were waiting for the last one. He is supposed to still be writing the last one, but many have already lost interest in the book and new readers don't even bother to read them. The same can happen with the CRJ: It becomes an aircraft that few will fly (because there are more modern and improved aircrafts), which will mean that it will not generate interest and therefore, no money, so in the end it will be formally abandoned as many have already mentioned.

You shouldn't make assumptions... pretty much every word you say is wrong.

If he's wrong, why did today's MSFS dev blog include updates for your ATR and PC-6 coming in the next two weeks, and we haven't seen anything other than vague platitudes about this CRJ update?

Because it is an Aerosoft product and not a Microsoft one?

I'm not suggesting he announce CRJ updates in the MSFS dev blog, I'm suggesting that the theory that work is being prioritized on planes other than the CRJ isn't wrong. Those projects have concrete release dates for updates, we've never even seen a screenshot or heard of a specific fix or feature, nevermind any sort of time frame.

To be honest, Mathijs, your statement that you have seen work on it is the only reason I believe it even exists.

Thanks Mathijs, nice to still see you around here, the short update is very appreciated :)

Hi @Mathijs Kok-  will the crj finally become available to Xbox users ?  Hope so !

I am not involved with the project; I am just a good friend of Hans Hartmann's, but I am sure it will be submitted to the marketplace when it is released. Remember that when the CRJ was originally released, that was impossible because the new interface system was not yet available. That limitation is now no longer a problem.

That’s great.  Sounds promising!  And I wasn’t on msfs in the beginning so I wasn’t aware. Thanks for the reasoning.  Glad it’s progressing

Please, stop continuing to repeat the same thing every year, there is no evidence of the work mentioned, no changelog about the points where work is being done, other companies have developed complete airplanes in less time.

Right now, I only have confidence in PMDG, Fenix and Maddog.

I cannot recommend the purchase of this aircraft, or any other Aerosoft product.

Less products and more quality.

@Mathijs Kok  - any guess on time frame? 2024 release vs years end vs 2025?
