So, to summarize the preview of CRJ V2 from A330Driver livestream:

- VNAV is buggy

- STARs are messed up

- Holds do not work

- LOC capture does not work

On a positive note, the passenger cabin graphics are updated!

I guess we need to wait another couple of years for fixes.

So.... Basically everything that is borked on V1 is still borked but at least the plane will work in mafs2024 now with better graphics right?!

Damn, can't say I didn't call that one months ago.

It's simple: While you are asking me to give you more information, other developers get hell from their community because they can't keep announced release dates (for whatever reason. I'm not judging

I'm not sure what I could tell you except the things I wrote in my last post. We're still working on the same things as before, but I'm not going to give you a list of when and how long people were on

  • Nobody is expecting a feature length blog with hype and a thesis about every detail 3 times a week. But I'm sorry, the current state and the current statement from the developer just doesn't cut it. I

As long as it will receive attention and prompt updates, then this can still become a great airplane. Just hope its not gonna be another 2-3 years for an update....

You're absolutely right!
But we all know the track record

Supposedly now delayed for another week to fix the bugs shown in that stream...

Some of these are bugs that have been known since before the update was announced, with topics on this very forum. The update has been years in the making, but has not fixed those bugs. Will now suddenly be fixed in an extra week? Trust level is not very high.

I really don't understand. With the A330 they released and paid for an aircraft that is worse than many default aircraft.
Now with the CRJ they announce the release and then postpone the day of release to a week? And to think that they are a German company (which from what I know has also received government funds).
I wonder how a company like Aerosoft, ends up making such a bad impression.

Seems like a systematic bug-registry is missing. An official forum post that lists confirmed issues after v2 is out, is something that would improve this experience a lot, and hopefully lead to new updates to solve open issues.

According to a post on another forum, Hans supposedly had a livestream himself or commented in someones livestream and mentioned this. All hearsay, which is why I prefaced it with the 'supposedly'.

And the issue tracker has been suggested many times in the past, but rejected. The forum was supposed to be the main way of tracking it. We have seen how well that has worked.

Let's see if the update still comes out today, if it doesn't it might confirm the delay. If it does, we all get to see how successful of an update it is.

It has definitely been pushed, Aerosoft officially announced it on their discord this morning:

And similarly, Is Discord the best place to report bugs? I finally figured out one of the most head scratching bugs sequencing the FMS that I’d love to report…assuming it hasn’t been fixed in V2.

Discord is generally a terrible place to post bugs unless there's a specific ticketing system set up because generally issues get lost in noise, but even then most people who do that just use it as an input mechanism for a proper ticket backend. I'd hope there's at least an internal bug tracker.

But, as Aerosoft likes to remind us, it's not their plane.....

So I'm guessing no Aerosoft resources will be used in bug tracking/triaging/ticketing

I dunno, I know they love to use that excuse, but it is sold as an "Aerosoft" branded product, so I couldn't care less who the actual developer is, I bought an Aerosoft branded product, and I expect Aerosoft to provide first party level support for it. But both the CRJ and the Twin Otter were two Aerosoft branded products that really shafted their customers, more so on the Twin Otter. Which is why I am not buying any more Aersoft aircraft until this is improved

Yes, those unfortunate people that bought the Twotter got straight up shafted. That plane was nowhere near payware quality, and I'm really puzzled by Aerosofts Publisher screening process. Between the CRJ and Twotter on the MSFS side of things, SAM and countless sceneries on the Xplane side, and the icing on the cake, the in-house a330, they've become basically the shovelware publisher of Flightsim.

The answer is deceptively simple. A new sim launched, and they did the bare minimum to make the aircraft compatible with the sim so they can cash in on new customers.

It's all about $ and quality comes after (if ever). There's 0 other reason an update for a plane that has been stagnant for over 2 1/2 years would have virtually no operational improvement over its last update. They were purely focused on getting it in the 2024 marketplace.

I guess it is quite clear by now that we should consider the forum abandoned 🤣. What a joke Aerosoft has turned into over the past few years.

Prepare to get no replies to any bugs you report here when the new version drops.

Depends where you got it from. Log in and redownload from Aerosoft One if you got it from Aerosoft.

Marketplace and other vendors may take some time to update their files.

It's listed in as a product I can buy in the Aerosoft library, not a product I can install.

In my case available thru Aerosoft One. Aerosoft claim the aircraft is 2024 compatible. Do we need to copy/paste into 2024 since in only installs in 2020?

I only had a brief look at it to update it for 2020 this morning, but it looks like there was a 2024 tab on the left side of the Aerosoft One app you could likely click to install it to that sim instead.
