...will the 2024 version be a free update?

Please Aerosoft, try to keep this forum alive!

No 2024 version it seems, vapourware... Aerosoft airport addons are dead IMO.

Maybe David Rosenfeld might be busy serving in the armed forces?

From what I remember, David lives in Israel.

As I only fly MSFS 2024, I refuse to spend 23 euro (£20) for a product which, at this price point should, by now offer native support.

We have all been very patient and a comment from Aerosoft or David Rosenfeld is well over-due.

Of course, slicker55, you should not buy an FS2020 product if you only fly FS2024. It would be pretty silly to do so, right? I am just not sure why everybody believes there should be an FS2024  version. David only wrote that he was cautiously looking at it; there has been no announcement of a pending FS2024 version.

Aerosoft and David's absence from the discussion should be interpreted simply as a sign that there is nothing to comment on. They sell an FS2020 product without guaranteeing a new version for FS2024.  I do agree it could have been handled more gracefully, but these forums seem to be very low on the list of priorities for Aerosoft these days. You could try their Discord server, which seems to be better attended to.

Hello Mathijs.  Nice to see you back here :D

I'm sorry, but I have to bring my fact-checking guns to bear on this, although I'm aware that you very likely didn't know the communication history on this, since you probably just looked at this thread and drew your conclusion that the update was not promised based exclusively on what is written here.

Aerosoft 100% promised the MSFS 2024 update of this, and that promise is still available on their Discord in the very announcement of the upcoming release.

https://discord.com/channels/1024582293563641916/1159617192644579398/1311345880942510240
"Regarding compatibility with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, we will provide an update within the next few weeks to ensure that the scenery is 100% compatible. Of course this update will be free!"

But that is not all. The actual store page of the product included the following note at launch.
"MSFS 2024 compatibility: An update will follow in the next few weeks, which will of course be free!"

Said note has then been quietly removed without an explanation (which is not good. At all. Come on, Aerosoft. Be better), but the internet does not forget, and it's still visible on Webarchive.

https://web.archive.org/web/20250421122258/https://www.aerosoft.com/it/negozio/flight/microsoft-flight-simulator/msfs-2020/msfs-sceneries/msfs-europa/4448/aerosoft-airport-milan-malpensa

As you mention, David's absence from the discussion and Aerosoft's silence are telling.

I think no one (at least no one sane) would hold David responsible if his attention has been diverted away by the situation in his country.

Yet, Aerosoft is based in peaceful Germany. They have made the promises (I imagine based on what David told them), and it's their responsibility to communicate with users and tell them whether there is a problem, the extent of said problem, and whether they're doing anything to fix it. They're the company that sold an airport with a clearly labeled promise on it that has not been fulfilled.

I don't think it's too much to ask that Aerosoft let users know the situation, and whether they can forget about the update and move on, or should still expect it and roughly when.

Hells. I'd honestly like to hear whether David is safe at this point. That's more important than any airport.

Okay folks, I know you've all been waiting sometime for new regarding this product for 2024, and I apologize for the delay.

The project manager has confirmed that the 2024 version was haulted due to some outside issues, hence the removal of this from the store page, however, work is now shortly being resumed, and with that, we will have some further news to share shortly, along with the general release plan.

Wasn't that hard, was it? Thanks for the update.

Next time, I pray you, communicate that "the MSFS 2024 version has been suspended due to outside issues" when you remove the mention from the store page, instead of doing it quietly.

Initial support has now been added for MSFS 2024.

 Aerosoft Airport Milan-Malpensa v1.0.5 (MSFS 2020/2024)
- Recompiled all models with the latest MSFS 2024 SDK
- LOD adjustments to critical models in order to verify compatibility with MSFS 2024 requirements
- Quality of Life improvements to the overall look of the airport
- Bug fixes and general improvements

Known issues:
- Due to a bug with MSFS 2024 SU3, approach lights system as well as PAPI model may appear/disappear randomly
- Due to MSFS 2024 lack of dual jetway support, some jetways are missing or define static to avoid misconfiguration
- Train animation is broken, will be fixed in the next update version

Hi
I'll try to make it clear enough as possible with my English limitation to What caused the delay.

When I started the LIMC for msfs2020 there was no information on MSFS2024 so in my Agreement  with Aerosoft The MSFS2024 was not included as a continuity project.

But right after the release the MSFS2024 I did start to convert my LIMC but the first new SDK for the 2024 version was to be  polite was not very friendly. so in my youth age then 77 it become impossible and to be honest I want to quit. and more then that  I came across that there is two other LIMC for MSFS2024 well so why doing it again

Just after the last SDK that it's much more friendly and with the help of Aerosoft team I manage to...

one more very important think We haven't been in a normal situation in my country  for two years And it doesn't help me to concentrate.

now I hope that my massage made it  clear so please Enjoy

Thanks for understanding

David

This update is very much appreciated.
