How to setup the VirtualFly SWITCHO Lights modules with MSFS

VirtualFly offers a series of SWITCHO modules to interface with MSFS, P3D and Xplane.

These are simple switch modules allowing to operate the most common switches in the cockpit.

NOTE : These modules are currently only interfacable with the VFHub software freely provided by VirtualFly.
They are only compatible with default aircraft. Addons may not or only partially be supported.
There will be in the near future a firmware flash capability allowing the modules to be recognized
as standard HID and subsequently be freely assignable from within the Controls options of the simulator
or through 3rd-party utility such as Axis&Ohs or SpadNext. Stay tuned !

These modules are available here

These modules come with the VFHub driver that is already configured for the default aircraft.
There is therefore little to do beside installing the software.
However, there is some assignment capability within the scope of the standard
functions of the default aircraft.

These modules can be used as table top device with their own housing :

Or they can be mounted in an instrument panel.
Simply remove the 6 allen screws on the front plate with the small allen key supplied :

If you assign one button to a function already assigned to another button,
you need to assign this other button to another function

You are all set !

Thanks for this, quite informative.

Have you looked at how you would configure a more complex plane where VFHub does not offer the flexibility needed?  For example SPAD and/or Axis and Ohs?

Those switches have a really nice solid clunk to them!

Hi,

Actually, it isn't yet possible (see the note at the beginning of the tutorial)

But when the new firmware will be available, those units will be recognized as standard HID and interfacable as such.

So basically any utility will do, or even the controls setup options in the simulators.

I suggest to use a utility that allows an easy use of the rocker switches.

These modules are indeed so sturdy they could be sold by the pound...🙂

Best regards.

This is what I am holding out for.  If I can't drive them with SPAD they'll be pretty looking paper weights.

Do we have any idea when this is likely to be?  I'm guessing this will be one of those "When its ready!" deals.  If that part works, I'll be buying all but the EFOS.  Though that might be on the cards later.

We could expect the firmware update in 5 - 6 weeks.

Of course it will be announced and a tutorial will follow.

That will definitely make those units really great.

We want to begin to work on this the second part of this year but we don't have any estimated date yet for the launch of this new FIRMWARE

Well, we'll see. I was told between one and one and a half month.

As soon as I get more info I will let everyone know.
