Using the Xplane 11 Honeycomb Configurator in Xplane 12

There is a quick and dirty fix to be able to use the current Honeycomb Configurator for Xplane 11 in Xplane 12.

NOTE : This tutorial ONLY applies if you already have a working configurator installed for Xplane 11 !
If you DO NOT have a working XP11 Configurator installed already, please follow this tutorial HERE

This isn't an official compatibility statement.
Xplane 12 Configurator is still worked on.

The basic idea is simply to copy the whole Configurator files from the Xplane 11 folder
to its exact counterpart location in Xplane 12.
Then start the configurator that is now in the Xplane 12 folder.
Do NOT use the usual shortcut you use for Xplane 11 as there are now TWO copies of the

Configurator application in two different locations !

What you need to copy is only one folder

It is the AFC_Bridge folder usually located in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Desktop\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins

Paste it to the Xplane 12 folder usually located in C:\X-Plane 12 in this subfolder

When you copy the complete AFC_Bridge folder, you also create a copy of the Configurator executable itself.

This is THIS copy you need to start when using XP12.
(DO NOT use the usual shortcut that may exist on your desktop)

Once this configurator is running, load the profile you want to use.

You can create you own profiles or copy-paste a profile from XP11 to XP12 (It seems to work indeed)
then activate it.

The profile is loaded in XP 12 correctly

Have you tried this on a M1 Mac? Following these steps crashes the sim for me. After deleting the act_bridge from Resources plugins and resetting the output preferences for joystick settings the sim worked again, albeit not the HBT.

If there is a different method for us on Macs feel free to let us know.

Thanks

Hello Simware,

nearly 7 months later ! Any news on the Honeycomb configurator for X-Plane 12 and people running X-Plane 12 on macOS ? Now that I received my DVD set from Aerosoft I should think this issue has been resolved meanwhile🤔

Hi,

No, as I have no Mac.

But I will check with the developers.

If I get info, I will post it here.

Best regards.

Hello, just posted a potential instability with the Bridge and XP12, using a Mac. Removal 'appear' to have resolved it, but it's early days. This was with an older Intel Mac not the Apple Silicon version. Just mentioning in case anyone believes these issues are unique to Apple Silicon (they are not)

New Mac Honeycomb software is currently being worked on.
But this is a long and intricate process. More will be posted when available.

Can you please post the download link für the current honeycomb configurator or make it more visible in your Aerosoft's download section. The download site from Honeycomb itself is quite dated.
