Bravo throttle not showing in MSFS 2020

Recommended Posts

Just wandering if I am doing anything wrong. I have tried a numerous times to try to set Braveo throttle quadrant but no avail. I have no issues connecting Alpha Flight control which is recognised by MSFS 2020 and I can set controls the way I want.

However, Bravo Throttle is also seen but not fully recognised by MSFS 2020. When Bravo Throttle is sellected, there is a picture of a controller with a question mark but not the picture of the throttle. I have a Saitek Rudder controller which is also recognised by MSFS 202 and no problems setting it up.

I have no issues using tthe both Alpha Flight Control (Yoke) and Bravo Throttle in other simulations such as Prepar3d and X-plane.

Not sure if I have missed anything. I have searched and tried but could not find answer to my problem.

Any ideas, please....

Hi,

Please change the "Assigned" parameters on the left to "All".

The assignments should become available.

Best regards.

Indeed.

It has already happened the identifier is wrongly recognized by MSFS but the unit

is perfectly working.

All the axes and buttons are normally assignable.

It is just that it doesn't appear in the "known devices" list.

Honestly, I don't know why...

The Bravo works fine with MS Flight Simulator X with all the lights, switches and axis working. Not in MSFS 2020.

It can't be a hardware issue, can it? Or is this a software issue?

I have tried virtually everything that I can think off but don't know why.

Thank you.

Hi,

Did you try to change the Assigned to All ?

If yes, no function appears in the middle panel ?

Best regards.

Yes, I have tried change from Assigned to All.

The functions appear in the middle and I can assign some functions.

However, I still don't see the picture of Bravo when selected and no lights on the panel.

Thank you

Hi,

So it means the unit works. You can just assign functions as per your requirements.
I suggest you check this tutorial here :

As for the lights, did you install the driver available from our website ?

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt response. Really appreciate it.

Yes, I have installed the software but still no lights and not showing the correct picture of the Bravo when selected.

I guess I will have to play around for more.

Thank you once again for guiding me through.

Hi,

You are welcome.
Regarding the lights, this may be linked to MSFS not detecting the throttle correctly.

First, I suggest you make a basic electrical test of the quadrant with this small "Christmas Tree" utility

Then, if it correctly works, please follow this tutorial showing how to start the AFC_Bridge program (allowing MSFS to drive the lights) manually

Best regards.

I think I am in the right direction.

Just wandering why MSFS not detecting Bravo correctly and Default profile had nothing in it.

Hi,

The lights work fine.

When manually started the configurator before creating a flight, the lights came on when the flight is initiated.

I have not watched the video yet but is that mean that I have to manually start the configurator before each time I create a flight?

Now, I can sleep with a peace of mind knowing I have my Bravo working.

It is getting very late here so I will have to sleep.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Best regards,

Most welcome.

I haven't found the reason why this happens yet.

If I do, I will post about it.

Best regards.

Hi,

Is this a common problem or rare?

I am not the only among a few having this problem, am I?

Kind regards,

Currently you will need to start the lights manually indeed.
This is an issue at the Windows level.
In some configurations, due apparently to access rights questions, the EXE.xml file

isn't correctly loaded.
Our developers are looking for a way to overcome this.

A new version of the driver is due for the end of this year.

Best regards.

I hope this one will solve some issues i have.

The first is that in MSFS Content Manager the AFC_Bridge is always shown as "not installed", even when i start the .exe manualy.

The second is that the LEDs on the AP buttons do not work correctly in some planes, mostly Addons.

Hi Ha_Ma,

The new driver will be much more flexible as it will allow the user to create customs profiles like

in the P3D and Xplane versions.
The current driver only addresses basic default functions.
As you said, depending on the addons, these default assignments may not always/fully work.

By the way, than you for your frequent usefull, wise technical contributions to this forum.

Very much appreciated.

Many thanks for that!

Do you have any idea why the AFC_Bridge is listet as "not installed" in the Content Manager? Or is this just another bug in MSFS and everybody has that?

Hi Ha_Ma,

You are welcome.

As for your question about AFC, this is what I found with my system :

- Completely uninstalled the Honeycomb software

- Rebooted the computer and restarted MSFS

- The lights don't lit and no AFC entry appears in the Content Manager.
- Redownloaded and reinstalled the  Honeycomb software, started MSFS
- The lights lit automatically

- AFC Bridge appears in the Content Manager as not installed

---> It seems it is the way it works with standard installation.
The fact AFC appears as uninstalled doesn't seem to affect its functionning.
Obviously an MSFS third-party untility management "issue"

For the sake of curiosity, I made the following test :
- Created a small executable doing nothing else than displaying "Hello World"
- Put it in the community folder

- Started PMSFS

- It also appears in the Content Manager as not installed.

Conclusion is that it apparently has nothing to do specifically with the Honeycomb driver and isn't a reason for

the lack of automatic start.

I will ask to my colleague Ben ("the one who knows" ☺) if he has any clue about it.

Hope it helps.

Best regards.

Hello SimWare,

i can agree so far.

Two weeks ago i made an update to Win11 with a complete clean install on formated hard drives. Everything with the AFC works as you describe. So i test actually with the free tool "Better Bravo Lights" and here it is the same: In most planes the AP lights work right, but in Just Flight's BAe-146 i.e. it does not. I will test it in the CRJ, cause i am quite sure that it doesn't work there with AFC.

Ok, i am actually on a second test. Yesterday i tested the CRJ (900 with "standard" livery; Lufthansa D-ACNM, no addons for the CRJ in community folder) with the Better Bravo Lights and it worked fine. Now i switched this tool off and with AFC it does not work right: No matter if i fly in HDG oder NAV mode, only the HDG light is on, it does not switch to the NAV light when in NAV mode. Also the VS light does not light up, only ALT and IAS are working. Same with REV light... So it seems that only every second AP LED ist working with AFC in the CRJ.
